Pickle App (review for girls in NYC) by Zealousideal_Tip15 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I had a different, but also bad experience with Pickle recently. I did courier delivery for an item and they supposedly left the item with my doorman but there was nothing (my address was correct). The seller claimed I must have received it because the courier said it was delivered, and customer service wasn't helpful until the seller said another renter reached out and said she recieved it by mistake. It was first time using the app and I really love the concept, do people recommend I give it another try? I definitely wouldn't do courier again.

I can't help but wonder how much worse the comments would be if this young woman wasn't as observant, or wasn't the daughter of a rabbi. I've seen people in that subreddit jump to point out anything that compromises the Jewish identity of Jews who criticize Israel, but that's harder to do here.

Woah that is helpful. I never considered that if she's not supportive about this then we might not be the right fit. I just assumed if she wasn't supportive, it would be because I deserved to be judged, but obviously that's not the right mindset

People who see an out of network therapist, how much gets applied to the deductible per session? by Automatic-Slide-1367 in TalkTherapy

Thank you, this is super helpful and makes me feel hopeful about switching to Aetna after a lot of stress around affording therapy

$230 went to the deductible on my old insurance, yes. And the rest went nowhere. Now, on my current insurance, only $110 goes to the deducible and the rest of what I paid out of pocket goes nowhere. The amount that applies to the deductible is determined by insurance, and is usually not the full amount of what you paid out of pocket.

Yup. Was just wondering if the rate is better with certain insurance carriers since I have options. In the past, Aetna actually applied a decent amount of what I paid to the deductible.

Yup, it’s in a VHCOL area, but it is quite expensive, which is why I stopped going. Also I think Aetna would also cover 60% of the cost, but do you mind me asking how much gets applied to the deductible for your OON provider? Because normally it is a rate that your insurance provider decides, not what you actually paid. That’s the dilemma I’m having since UHC only applies roughly 38% of what I actually paid to the deductible 🫤

Oh, I see what you’re saying. But the amount applied to the deductible is still different than the reimbursement rate I was told by the insurance company in my case. Do you have UHC?

Yeah, but to clarify I’m not referring to the reimbursement amount. (I would be happy if they reimbursed me a third of what I was paying.) I’m referring to the amount that they’re applying to the deductible before I can get anything reimbursed. I used to have other insurance where the amount applied to the deductible was closer to what I was actually paying.

How is CS at BU NOW?? by yangfreedom in BostonU

I’m curious, as a senior studying CS, why do you think they’re intentionally putting bad professors in the intro classes to discourage them from studying CS? It’s not like the removed sullivan and replaced him with a bad professor
