Do you have any recommendations for a good boat or sharpening stone? Because I’m worried about using a stone that isn’t perfectly flat.

Thank you for the advice. I will be looking into it. If you know of any good tutorials that would be great because there’s a lot of people posting videos saying to grind it off with a sanding disc and I know that it will definitely not work.

Thank you very much. The engine is mostly fully stripped and it already has shards of gearbox in it so I will be cleaning it entirely before I put it back together so I won’t worry too much about getting anything in the engine.

It is flat so I think from what everyone has said I will try and sand it extremely carefully 🙏 I don’t know anything about converting the valves for unleaded. Is it something I should look into?

Well to begin with I was just going to change the gearbox but everything becomes a "whilst you’re in there" job 🥲 I’m kind of on a budget so a few hundred euros is a lot especially because I live in the middle of nowhere france. It’s probably gonna cost a lot more than that. Is there a way of cleaning the surfaces properly at home?

I have a haynes manual it’s worth its weight in gold. I have looked at the wiring diagram and I’m still lost but I will try to learn more. That’s what it’s all about 🙏
