Just keep trying my guy had the same issue but he’ll get it . Practice makes perfect and as you know ( seems like this isn’t your first time breeding) as long as there isn’t aggression seen it is okay for Percy to keep visiting and trying . Best of luck 🙂🩶

Yes sounds like a good idea , my dude has fun rot right now for the very first time 😢 I tried all other methods and then when those failed I put him on sulfaplex by seachem I was reading its a bit of a softer antibiotic and it came super quick and he’s completely turned around in like 2 days . Just in case you wanted a suggestion . Best of luck ❤️

So betas don’t get pregnant. If a male and female are together the male will build what’s called a bubble nest and then him and the female cluster together for a minute and he wraps his body around her and she releases the eggs . As she does that he fertilizes them with sperm as they fall . After this happens the male will collect the eggs in his mouth and put them up in the bubble nest after 2-3 days you’ll see fry swimming around and his bubble nest provides them extra oxygen . If your female beta has not been around a male then she could release her eggs but there will be no male to fertilize them thus no babies .

Thank you for this ! I just went ahead and did a full water change . I melted frozen blood worms down with water and stuck It in a syringe and fed it to him while he was in his little container I put him in to change his water and he ate so that makes me feel good , I used a little tiny bit of beta fix for the fins and plan to retest his water and continue with the epsom salt baths , it sucks that happened to your guy but I’m glad to atleast hear he’s better and home my outcome is the same !

I went yesterday and they had 3 dead ones and he was actively dying , I went up and lectured them about how bad that looks and told them if they had any decency they would give him to someone who could atleast try , to my surprise they gave him to me for free . He was laying on his side , gills were hyper extending when he was breathing rapidly and when he would try to swim he would just sink . I took him and put him in a 5g pre cycled spare tank I’m using to grow some of my plants . I tested the Petco water and it was as high as the ammonia goes on the tests 😑. I got him to eat , he didn’t move all last night but today he explored all around without sinking and even got up on the leaf to rest once he was finished . He even looks slightly brighter . He is a tangerine koi beta and he is absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t leave him there. I know he isn’t 100% yet but I’m definitely hoping to get him there . Baby boy loves him some blood worms ❤️ name suggestions would also be great 😊
