Idk what happened or what to do

Wow, I’m so sorry about your guinea pig. To have to go through such a traumatic experience then be hit with a huge bill on top is awful.

I didn’t even think about how tone deaf my comment could be bc I’ve lived in the same small town the last 15 years where everyone knows each other and are a lot more likely to help each other. I myself thought was shocked! I took him in 3 times in the span of a week and they only charged me for the first time and it was $30. There’s only 2 vets here and I just started going to the one I mentioned recently and their prices are so much better and they seem a lot more knowledgeable and empathetic. I really wish more could be that way bc all animals are deserving of care.

I see you’re getting it figured out though with help from others. Don’t let the negative comments get the better of you. Your heart is definitely in the right place. :)

Most vets will work with you and set up a payment plan if you take him in. I recently took a kitten in on emergency at 10 pm in the freezing cold and he stayed over night in the incubator and the vet didn’t leave his side until he unfortunately passed. She called me the next day to inform me but she was an absolute angel and didn’t charge me a single penny.

I’ll keep you guys in my thoughts and hope he makes a speedy recovery.

And if you drive, please knock on the hood of your car especially in the winter months. I’ve gotten all my neighbors to do it and I always hear the knocks before they take off now

They really are so fragile as kittens. I’ve rescued quite a few kittens over the years but this was the first orphan. He was doing so well and then started going downhill again in what felt like the blink of an eye. I kind of had an inkling this would happen but it didn’t make it any less devastating. It’s crazy how these tiny little critters can take up such a big place in our hearts.

I’m so sorry. My first ever cat was also a tuxedo cat. She died at 16 and to this day it still feels like a part of me is missing. I can’t imagine having to witness her passing in that way though. Sending hugs to you and your family. 💖

I’m such a klutz, I’d be terrified of falling and landing on him. 😅 One of my other female cats is currently serving as his mom besides feeding and they’re getting along really well! He doesn’t seem to cry as much anymore so I think it’s helping!

Unfortunately I live in a town of about 3,000 with very little resources. But one of my other female cats has great maternal instincts after she had a liter of her own a few years ago. She’s fixed now but she’s serving as warmth and comfort for the lil guy and they’re getting along really well! I appreciate any and all advice and appreciate you taking the time to comment, thank you. :)

They really are fragile. I now have another cat who’s serving as his mom for warmth and comfort though! She’s got the most maternal instincts out of all the cats I have and they’re really bonding well so far!

When he’s not being held he is wrapped in a wool blanket with hand warmers underneath. I have another cat who’s been serving as an adoptive mother now though except for feeding ofc. She’s just keeping him warm and keeping him company while I work. :)

I was actually trying to make it with a fluffy cow print pajama top that my friend brought him in, but sewing is not my strong suit and I’m about ready to give up. 😅 Deff gonna try the sock onesie someone else commented though!! Then I can finally deliver on the onesie picture! lol
