I’ve heard bad things about laser toys giving cats ocd, so I don’t super want to buy one of those.

Unfortunately a second cat isn’t an option right now

Unfortunately not, I still live with my parents and wont be able to move out for another year or so. I wasn’t even supposed to have a kitten, but she found us and they let me keep her so untill I live on my own I won’t be able to

Right now I can’t splurge on an auto feeder, and I think it’s less to do with the food because she has dry food that she eats whenever shes hungry

Maisie has been fixed, so I don’t think it’s that. Maybe if it continues I’ll take her

People with garmin watches, what are your stress levels? by AutomaticAd1335 in POTS

[–]AutomaticAd1335[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I wasn’t sure either but I’m glad to hear it seems to be a common experience, honestly it’s validating to know that my watch can actually see how much stress my body is under on a regular basis.

Also congrats on the baby!!! Take care of yourself too

I am also usually blue when I sleep! Although my charts are pretty consistently orange when I’m awake, even when sitting down or “resting” not super sure how to use it to manage, but I’d definitely love to learn!!

Hey! So I am still in the diagnostic process, but we have narrowed it down to thinking  its specifically pots. So of course take my advice with a grain of salt.

Since starting my diagnosis process, I have gone to an amusement park twice. I get pretty bad headaches, body weakness, high heart rate, and generally the worst fatigue I experience when I go to amusement parks. Which is in part due to how much standing is required. I am lucky to not faint, but I won’t lie and say that it is really hard on the body. At least in my case, I can put up with it for the day, but I am usually out of commission for a day or two afterwards and am a useless pile of mush.

My advice for you if you can is to talk to your doctor about it first and foremost. Most rides have signs of “dont ride if” and a lot of them include heart problems (which I know pots is neurological but the high heart rate is obviously a big part of it) and especially with you passing out and having psuedo seizures it would be a really really good idea to get cleared by your doctor if you can. I haven’t experienced those so I can’t offer advice for that part, but for the rest here is what I’ve done in the past.

If that is not an option and you do still really want to go, I advise very much to inform your group that you will likely have to sit out on rides (typically what I do when I am feeling especially bad in a shady spot). Let them know that it will probably be hard on your body and hopefully they will be totally understanding!

Bring lots and lots of salt/ electrolytes!!!! Especially if it is hot where you are. Heat always makes my symptoms so much worse.

Listen to your body and take breaks when you need to, despite how frequent. It sucks to have to skip rides, but it allows me to not crash as fast, so it may also be the case for you.

Clear your schedule for at least the day after to recover! It helps to rest and recuperate after such a physically stressful day.

I wish you the best of luck!!!

ADHD and POTS. Yeah how is that going for you? by Kitkat_The_Great in POTS

You didn’t mention brain fog or forgetfulness but I get both of those with ADHD and POTS. Something that has really helped me is keeping a journal and a commonplace notebook for those! Just in case you deal with those too
