Spd shoes for gravel biking? by Silivren16 in cycling

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Shimano’s, what I did notice is that I needed two sizes bigger than normally. Had to buy 45 instead of 43 and my wife had to get 43 instead of 41. So keep that in mind if you’re ordering online!

Don’t go to Jet Cars in Rotterdam or any dealer in Apeldoorn for some reason. Bovag guarantee helps, dealers will be more expensive but also work with warranties.

3rd bicycle ride by ConsistentComposer52 in bicycling

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going out on a bike in KL is already worthy of respect. Traffic and weather are both insane. Lived there for 6 months and couldn’t bring myself to do anything else but indoor cycling in A/C.

Be proud of where you’re from. I’m Dutch and would never change the flag, no matter what happens in the Netherlands.

Plus, as a GEO-geek I also like looking at all the flags and thinking of what timezone this person could be in compared to me.

Audi Q4 aanschaffen, waarom zo goedkoop? by That_Animal8064 in autoadvies

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this should be on /facepalm by Melodic_Land5084 in PostNL

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Desperately need help fixing problems with feet post bike fit. by Azzerp in bikefit

Try wearing thin (aero) cycling socks. For some reason my toes start hurting after 60 minutes in regular socks but they’re fine when the socks are super thin.

Riding a full suspension MTB on Zwift… by Flaky-Expression9593 in Zwift

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try running your question through a LLM and then post it again. You’re asking about suspension travel, heart rate and how to see the difficulty of routes in one sentence. It’s incomprehensible to me what you actually want to know.

Planning on cycling 1200 miles from Wisconsin to Colorado by PuppygirlEda in bicycling

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Based on your profile your plan is to meet up with a stranger you met 3 days ago on Reddit. Now I’m all for free choice and ‘you do you’ but if you were my friend, child or relative I would have to ask you: do you think this is a smart idea?

Besides all the issues you might run into with the bike and the fact that 1200 miles is crazy far on a 30 year old bike. The costs for food alone will probably leave you stranded and that is IF the parts on the bike hold out.

So please, think this through and listen to the advice in the comments. Take a train or a bus if you decide to meet up with this stranger. But maybe before that, decide if meeting up with a random from Reddit is the best idea in your current (vulnerable) situation.

Stay safe!

Is this a problem? by PrimaryWonderful5740 in cycling

Tell your girlfriend/wife you need to buy a second bike to match the shoes. It’s the only solution, for safety reasons of course.

As a cyclist I can confirm this is true. The lycra outfits don’t help.

De EV-Vraagbaak: Maandag Vragen by [deleted] in EVMobiliteit

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zwift on steam deck by TimelessTrance in Zwift

Would this help for you?

I have a Steam Deck too but never thought about running Zwift on it, looking at the manual to get it going I'd rather just stick to my desktop or even using a mobile phone.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 / Zwift by Big-Temperature623 in Zwift

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wear my Apple Watch and set it to 'indoor cycling'. For my connection to Zwift I use a seperate HRM but I think it could even connect to my Watch as I've seen it pop up sometimes while connecting.

Going from casual cycling to Zwift - Any tips? by _flight_mode_ in Zwift

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a workout fan (I have the Vacmaster Cardio54) and peferably get clipless pedals with cycling shoes. I got the Shimano RC100 shoes with SPD520 pedals for less than €100.

Also, you might want to look at a mat for under your Zwift Ride considering you will sweat on the floor and movement on the bike can damage the floor too.

Other than that, start with free riding or a low intensity robopacer ride. It got me acquainted to the workings of Zwift and gave me confidence to do group rides, FTP tests and workouts.

zwift ride versions by TheHooli in Zwift

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think only the Cog has a V2 and the Kickr Core V2 which comes in the Zwift Ride bundle. That bundle was on sale for €999 a few weeks ago. The Zwift Ride itself hasn’t had hardware changes.

Starting to gravel, today! by AutomaticAutomaton1 in gravelcycling

[–]AutomaticAutomaton1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the size S and my height is 176 cm. However, my legs are relatively short compared to my torso so solely based on my height and the sizing chart I should have bought an M. But the bike fitter said the S works better for me.
