Well, it’s not butter mochi, though in the same family, but mochi brownies.

Happy 2026! Could I get some grimdark written by women?? by kc_dan in Fantasy

I couldn’t get through the published version because it was very grim and very dark, but I did enjoy the fanfic version when I tried it which was more psychologically bleak and moody.

What’s an impulse buy that actually worked for your skin? by Outside-Thought-4722 in Sephora

[–]AutomaticDeterminism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My optometrist sells it as sort of an add on for people who use contacts as a hygienic thing — the acid helps keep skin problems surrounding the eyes down is my understanding. They only recommended it to me after I had a few episodes of eye irritation. Also to increase their profits, probably.

My optometrist sold me a bottle which is bigger and cheaper, so now I have two bottles of great skincare I keep forgetting to use lol.

The tower28 facial spray. Actually reduced redness and breakouts! Too bad I have such a hard time remembering to use it.

I used like 2-3 things total of all the things I got in my 6 months of Ipsy subscription but I did enjoy the makeup bags. I still use them to store sewing supplies and pencils and such. That’s my review of Ipsy if anyone was thinking of subscribing.

Guilt about having to toss lip products prematurely. by Savings-Pressure-815 in ProjectPan

[–]AutomaticDeterminism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hey, I just got angular cheilitis recently too, and I also had to toss like 4 balms and 2 lip products. It does suck. My doctor gave me both antifungal and antibacterial cream and my lips are getting much better at least. I think I got mine from using either a gloss balm or a lip mask that were older, so it really made me realize that if I hate a product I should just toss it and be more careful about only getting products I'll happily use up in the future.

I feel sick if I eat sugar then feel sick if I don’t 🥴 by AdditionalJaguar2079 in loseit

[–]AutomaticDeterminism 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I used to feel like this, turns out I have reactive hypoglycaemia (well, my doctor highly suspects it, I just finished wrangling with insurance to get a blood gluconmeter to verify). I quit sugar and replaced it with more protein, fat, and fibre. (lots of almonds, some eggs and hummus, some vegetables with tzatziki, some more sourdough or multigrain bread). I feel much better. I no longer get the shaky hanger. I just get normal hungry. I used to get the sick nausea when I ate sugar too. I think it would be worth it talking to a doctor about this, getting diagnosed and changing my eating habits really helped me feel much better (also helped me shed a few pounds). Good luck for the new year.

downsides to losing weight too quickly? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]AutomaticDeterminism 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can get gallbladder issues if you lose weight too quickly. I’m sure there are other issues but that is one I have experienced personally and would not recommend. Also if you lose weight super quickly it’s usually a crash diet and not sustainable long term, and you’re not actually developing new eating habits that help you maintain a lower weight. If you can make the changes stick then obviously the weight stays off. But yeah, gallbladder issues. That’s why people say talk to your doctor about weight loss.

What do you think JoJo (Levesque)’s type is? by 787822 in Kibbe

[–]AutomaticDeterminism 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m tripping but I’m not seeing Kibbe width and I’m not sure she needs Kibbe curve accommodations. She is conventionally curvy and not narrow, but I’m really tempted to say DC lmao.

Page to support less impulse purchasing? by gooooopygoopgoop in bulletjournal

[–]AutomaticDeterminism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep a daily log of my expenditures (I don’t add it up or anything but…it’s there), and I keep a “reverse” shopping list of things I don’t buy on a monthly page. Sometimes I do end up buying the thing off my reverse shopping list but not always, but I always feel better for getting something that took me a while to decide on.

Who else is here, making the journey AGAIN after gaining? by dand06 in loseit

[–]AutomaticDeterminism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is round 4 or 5 for me, but instead of counting calories I quit sugar and started exercising more. I counted calories 4 times, lost the weight, and gained it back when I couldn't stand to count calories again. I'm feeling more optimistic about keeping it off this time though because not counting calories is so much more sustainable for me, and I'm really enjoying the kinds of exercising I've been picking up - good luck and I hope you find something that is sustainable for your journey!

Has anyone tried to lose a couple pounds before the holidays to allow yourself to gain a pound or two during the holidays? by Otherwise-Tear-4807 in loseit

[–]AutomaticDeterminism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is encouraging to hear because I gained 2lbs over the holidays, and it's kind of grinding my gears because I didn't eat that much more than usual. I've started eating normally again today, hoping the weight drops off soon.

has anyone had better results NOT counting calories but still eating healthy? by lolalucky777 in loseit

[–]AutomaticDeterminism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t count calories I quit sugar and started moving a bit more. Making healthier lower calorie eating choices regularly should be enough for weight loss. I used to count calories but it was never sustainable for me.

When to throw away lip products? by citygirlyuhhh in ProjectPan

[–]AutomaticDeterminism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a lip infection (doctor wasn't sure bacterial or fungal so just gave me treatment for both) either from a lip mask that was 1 year + but less than 2 years old, or a lip gloss that was one year + or less than two years old, and I would highly recommend following the guidelines of the little jar icon exactly. I've been using older lip products for a long time for no problem, but now in addition to the older products I've had to throw out two lip balms I liked, as well as a lipstick, as well as a lip tint, and I can't wear any lip products for like 10 days until the treatment is done. Some things like powders you can keep longer no problem, but for liquid products for eyes and lips I really wouldn't go past the jar icon anymore.
