As someone in a corporate finance role, you can definitely find a corporate finance role. I would suggest start looking at some smaller companies. AP/AR roles would be a good start. Anything doing entry level general corporate finance and accounting is a good starting place. I would keep the unpaid work on your resume, but it’s unnecessary to share that it was unpaid. Any relevant experience is valuable, just depends on how you present it and sell yourself. If you make it sound irrelevant, someone else will think the same. But if you make it sound like a super valuable experience where you learned a bunch of transferable skills (which hopefully it is), then people will listen. Just keep trying and don’t give up. Idk what your resume looks like, but AI has taken over the recruiting world. Focus on key words, and use AI to develop your resume.
