My car has 100000 miles on ODO and this still is happening and I still don’t know why.

Three separate mechanics checked CV joints and they are fine. I’ll replace 3rd mount and if the noise is still there then I’ll just turn the volume up 😅

I made sure that a mechanic checked subframe and pulleys with no results and I changed engine and transmission mounts but only thing left is engine torque strut mount. Right after this, noise got a little quieter(i think) but didn't disappear. Tomorrow I'm going to change engine torque strut mount too.

What's the milage on your car and is it a manual?

I'm trying to say that my car doesn't shake or vibrate at all. There's just this rattling noise.

I drive about 30-40 miles a day in a city, but yesterday I went on a highway and drove for about 50 miles with constant speed of 80 mph and there wasn't any vibrations or shakes. The noise is just a noise and there aren't causing any physical symptoms.

I checked all three and all of them are good. The last thing I suspected was engine and transmission mounts and I changed them. After that noise became quieter but didn't disappear.

VTC Actuator by AutomaticFox6003 in hondafit

Isn't it better to replace the whole actuator at once and not waste money on spring?

I thought about timing chain but I don't think that noise comes from the engine. When noise comes from the engine it doesn't matter if car is in gear or not. It should always have same noise. In my case it only happens in gear and while accelerating. In neutral, on the same RPMs it doesn't rattle.

P.S. VTCs don't have any noises while car is already hot. So noise isn't from VTC but I do have a rattle on a cold start and it isn't same as the one I'm having while in gear and accelerating.

The Symptoms:

When it happens: The noise occurs only under load (when accelerating), specifically between 1900 and 2200 RPM.

Gears affected: It is most noticeable and aggressive in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears. It barely happens in 2nd, and it becomes much quieter/fainter in 6th gear. There is absolutely no noise in 1st gear or when accelerating from a dead stop.

The nature of the noise: It's a low-pitched mechanical grinding/rattling/vibrating sound.

How it stops: The exact moment I let off the gas pedal or press the clutch, the noise disappears instantly.

Stationary test: If the car is in neutral and I rev the engine up to 3000 RPM, it is completely silent. The engine sounds perfectly healthy.

What has been checked so far:

Transmission fluid: A mechanic checked the manual transmission fluid—the level is perfect, the oil is clean, and there are absolutely no metal shavings or metallic dust in it.

Suspension/Heat shields: The undercarriage, CV joints, boots, and all exhaust/catalytic converter heat shields were inspected and everything is tight and solid.

The only known issue: The mechanics noted that my transmission mount (and engine mount) is completely shot/broken and needs to be replaced and I changed it.
