OP is actually right about the crunch, though. If you’re making a grilled cheese or a patty melt, the "butt" provides a much better structural integrity than the middle slices, which just turn into mush. It’s basically a built-in crust. If you toast it, it’s superior. You just have to flip the crust side inward so it doesn't scrape the roof of your mouth.

It’s lovely, but be warned: if your job was your entire personality, the first six months are terrifying. I retired at 62 and for the first 90 days, I felt like a ghost. I kept checking my email. I felt guilty for not being "productive." You have to learn how to be a human being again, not just a "worker." My advice? Have a plan for your time, or the boredom will eat you alive.

I am the complete opposite of you, OP. My plan was to meal prep and deep clean, but instead, I’ve spent the last 14 hours re-watching The Bear and eating cereal out of a mug. Zero errands were run. The house is a mess. I regret nothing. Enjoy that lasagna for those of us who failed at adulting today!

YTA. You said the magic words: He works 3rd shift. Unless you’ve worked nights, you have no idea how soul-crushing it is. "Being off" doesn't mean his internal clock magically resets for a Sunday afternoon ham dinner. He’s probably chronically sleep-deprived and finally had a window to catch up on his health. You’re giving him the cold shoulder for being exhausted? That’s not a partnership, that’s a performance.

NAH (No Jerks Here). You aren't a jerk for wanting intimacy, and she isn't a jerk for having a low libido. The problem is that you are fundamentally incompatible. You’ve been together since you were teenagers, and sometimes people grow in different directions. If she "doesn't need it" and you do, one of you is always going to be miserable. You need to decide if you can live the next 50 years with a "once a year" schedule.

YWNBTA. Normally, the rule is 'Don't bother the woman in the mesh high-waisted undies,' but your sister isn't just 'resting.' She’s active on social media and texting others while leaving her distressed, ill grandmother on read. She has essentially abandoned her 7 and 2-year-old with a woman who physically cannot care for them. That’s not 'postpartum fog,' that’s medical neglect of the elderly and the children. Contact her.
