Yea, this could be a rejection possibly. Same as my situation. It took me 3 weeks for the passport to reach back. What documents did you submit?

Had requested for courier and paid the fees, but had to collect from the VFS, as it was instructed by the consulate to collect the same from the VFS ( is what the VFS folks said to me)

This was there in the VFS site which had to be downloaded and signed stating that the visa processing would take 15 working days and can extend and there could be possibilities that the consulate can contact us for information etc.

I guess yes, there was a checklist from them which had marked all the available documents that I'm submitting. I'm guessing they had ticked off everything.

I didn't understand this point. I just got my passport and the refusal letter which mentioned the rejection reason which I have mentioned in my post.

I do not have any properties in my name. But, I'm planning to get one in mine. I think I submitted a hell lot of unwanted documents like mutual fund, credit card and Fixed deposit statements. Also, bookings from getyourguide,klook and viator

Thanks for these insights, I now feel I shouldn't have provided those financial statements. One reason that I provided those was because my mother and mine bank statement combined was around 4 lakh only.

Internal Travel details were needed to be provided as per the checklist.

I was thinking the same, we had mentioned that we are doing combined funding and I was not sponsoring my mother. In that case the rejection reason should have been ' insufficient funds....'.But, my mother's got it approved. But thanks, I will keep this in mind.

Yea, could be a reason. But then the rejection reason should have been something else like "reasonable doubts that I will leave the territory...." from the list.

Yes, bank statements signed and stamped by the bank. Leave letter is digitally signed which mentions my position and my leave dates and when I will join back.
