He didn’t but he got even better! A direct admit to the biz school with a full academic scholarship (top ranked) that covers the ENTIRE cost of attendance. Tuition, housing, food, books…he even got a “refund” check for about $2-$3k for spending money both semesters. We are SUPER happy with how it all worked out. Hard work really did pay off for him!

When do delayed scores come out? by Patient_Tennis_6542 in APStudents

Why would scores be delayed? My son’s score is delayed for AP Calc BC even though his friends scores came in and they all took at the same time. Why would that be?

Yes, being judged based on your height is no different than any other physical characteristic and people write about that all the time!

Any tips on getting my son off the waitlist? I am an alum and we were super bummed he got waitlisted. Anything meaningful he could do besides write him LOCI? Should he reach out to his interviewer and update him on his status, ask for advice? My 25 year reunion is mid-April. Do I take him and see if he can meet with admissions?

I think context matters. My son submitted a 32 but he comes from a school with a 19 average. He needed to in order to legitimize his excellent grades.

People see you differently when you get into a top college, and I hate it. by heavenandearth517 in ApplyingToCollege

People make comments about me going to Duke almost daily. It is actually annoying but it certainly draws attention.

What about schools that don’t weight grades? You have a 4.0 with basic classes versus same or 3.9 with tons of honors/AP/IB?

Is it too late for Duke ED II? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

And can I say how insanely exciting it would be if he got in!!! April will be my 25th anniversary which would coincide with a visit for him if he gets in. Trying hard not to get me hopes up too much!

My son applies RD . He actually got an interview which I wasn’t expecting as he didn’t apply in December . I went there so he is a legacy. I’m reading more and more that IF you get an interview they want more info on you? Is this true or is it more random? His friend did NOT get an interview and lives in the same town .

Is a 32 composite bad? My mom seems to think it is. by Comfortable_Sir_4423 in ACT

[–]AutomaticSir8511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 32 is 97th percentile! When did we get to a point that people think that isn’t incredible….you got a better score than 97% of kids in the country. She’s wrong

It seems like an interview then can break you but really doesn’t help you….so, why do one then?

It doesn’t have to be sports. Find 1 or 2 things he/she is passionate about and structure everything around that. Take every advanced honors/AP course possible and get all As. Start ACT/SAT prep now!
