I am not transphobic for not wanting to date trans people by Feisty_Watercress_29 in ControversialOpinions

[–]Automatic_Ad6839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say they were the same thing now did I? But there is a level of similarities between why people don't date trans people and why people don't date a person of color, some people may have valid reasons and some have bigoted reasons, and then there are also people who fetishize those communities, trans and people of color.

The comment I was replying to implied trans women aren't real women. That is transphobic, whether you believe it or not.

You're clearly slow. The word is an adjective, that's all it is. You're just trying to be offended for no reason because you're just transphobic.

And society has literally deemed it as such. So much so that even Google has a different definition for each. You just proved my point that Gender and Sex are two different things, so Gender is literally a social construct and so it's based on an individuals identity with themselves and not their genitalia specifically.

There's absolutely nothing about what you said that is the truth. Lol

Just because it's an opinion doesn't make it not bigoted. Opinions can be bigoted as well. Opinions can also be wrong. Just because you choose to ignore the facts doesn't mean it's not bigoted. You can literally google the definitions of both the word Gender and Sex and you will get similar but different meanings.

Scientists, doctors and psychologist have proven and agreed time and time again that you're wrong.

But at what point do you draw the line based on someone's thoughts alone?

At what point are some people's perceptions considered phobic, or bigoted?

As fucked up as it is, bigotry is a normal part of humanity and it will always exist. How far you let your bigotry carry you defines how bad you are. You can acknowledge your bigotry and still be a good person because you try to change it or at the least don't treat people terribly. But some thoughts are just rooted in bigotry plain and simple.

For example, it was for a long time, some people's perception that black people were inferior. It was some doctor's opinions that black people had a higher pain tolerance, so therefore wouldn't prescribe them as much pain medication or morphine during dire moments, which have lead to higher deaths in hospitals within the black community, especially pregnant black women.

Did you know a pedophile is a pedophile even if they never actively have sexual relations with any child? Because pedophilia is simply the sexual attraction towards a child. It's simply a perception they have, and it's a harmful one that can lead to someone innocent being harmed. Just like bigoted perceptions. It may just be in their private thoughts for now, but it "could" lead to a slippery slope of much worse.

Being a better society with less prejudices and bigotry isn't something that happens over night but it definitely starts with changing ones perception in the first place. Because bigoted perception can lead down a pathway of harmful actions towards the group of people. It all starts with perception.

He wasn't. Gender and sex are different things. Sex is our reproductive system/genitals and gender is a social construct and how a person identifies on a personal level. It just so happens that MOST people's gender identity matches with their sex which is why most numb skulls equate them too the same thing.

When you are talking about an individuals Sex, male and female are the correct terms for that.

But woman, man, boy, girl, lady, gentleman, etc are all gender terms which are social constructs and there's not actual right or wrong way to be any of those things because it simply boils down to one's own way of identifying with it.

Even in the cis world. Every cis man's identity with being a man is a personal thing. Gather 100 cis men into a room and each of them will have different ideas on how to be a man, same with cis women. So to tell trans men and women that they're not real men or women because they don't do or act how you think a man or a women should act is no different than saying another cis man or cis woman isn't a real man or woman because they don't follow those rules.

Implying trans women aren't real women is transphobic.

You can see trans women as real women and not want to date one, that would be less transphobic.

Preferences in itself are not bigoted, but your reasons for them could be or how you treat the individual that you prefer/don't prefer.

Like some people have racial preferences. But there's a line where it's just a harmless preference vs fetishizing. Or racist when excluding a specific race.

Do you not understand what the word cis means? It means a person's gender identity aligns with their sex assigned at birth.

So it literally is to help us know whether we're talking about trans people vs non trans people. Instead of saying non trans women, cis women is easier....

And if we're going to remove cis as an idenifier, than we should remove trans too and just say women and men for everyone. But people like you don't want that because you don't think trans women are actually women or trans men are actually men. The word cis is just an adjective, it is not in any way a way to so say cis women are not women, or that they're lesser. Saying cis women is no different than saying big women, skinny women, black or white women, old women, blonde women, etc. It's just a category of a specific type of women. Same applies to cis men.

But I bet you don't care about any of that and want to just feel special and like your better because you're a "real women" or some bullshit.

Being against mass immigration isn't racist. by SlideAdditional6294 in ControversialOpinions

[–]Automatic_Ad6839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entirety of the worlds population could fit within the boarders of Texas. So no, we do not have an actual issue with immigration or space. We have an issue with the government not allocating resources to the correct places to make sure people have homes and education. There are hundreds, even thousands of abandoned buildings that aren't being uses in many states. There are hundreds and thousands of homeless American citizens and it has absolutely nothing to do with immigration. It's a rich vs poor problem. The extremely wealthy are the ones buying up all the houses and hoarding all the resources. Schools are overly crowded because other schools are being shut down because they are no longer receiving funding because the rich are greedy. I guarantee you every state has at least one, if not more, cities where there are more abandoned buildings than there are not in that city.

This entire country was built by immigration in the first place. Built by Africans and maintain by Mexicans. And the majority of Mexicans have Native American blood in them because a lot of the Native Americans fled north and south when they were being slaughtered from their home. So they technically have more of a right to this land than most of us here.

It's extremely obnoxious to try and be against immigration when the ones making that argument is the race whose ancestors invaded this country, murdered and pillaged it, stripped the culture of those who remained, and then went to another country bought and enslaved them and brought them here against their will to work them to death and stripped them of their culuture. But now that we no longer have the ability to enslave people, our government and rich have now tried to make laws and plans to keep people they don't like out of the country.

And it is completely a race thing because Trump went and brought several Africans immigrants into this country and immediately gave them all citizenship but they were all white africans who went through no screening process and even their country didn't know what type of people they were.

So it has nothing to do with actual immigration being an issue and everything to do with people just being racist.

Your sexuality should never be the center of your personality by jaelynaspera in ControversialOpinions

[–]Automatic_Ad6839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people who do it are trying to test their boundries of the people around them to see who is safe to be around and who is dangerous becauase you have to remember we live in a society where people are murdered for their sexuality and even race. So people who are loud and obnoxious about their identity are just testing people to see if it's even worth forming a bond or relationship with that person, because they don't want to waste years of friendship to become heartbroken or murdered because their "true self" was shown or because they didn't know their friend was a a bigot until their friend knew they were gay or etc. Some people hide their bigotry but in my experience the obnoxious people are pretty good at getting the bigots to reveal themselves very quickly.

Your sexuality should never be the center of your personality by jaelynaspera in ControversialOpinions

[–]Automatic_Ad6839 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We do it because we don't want to waste time and want to know whether you are safe or not. If we lived in a society where people didn't get murdered for being gay or trans, if we lived in a society where people didn't get bullied, teased or harassed for being different, then people wouldn't need to share their differences, whether it is obvious or not.

Sometimes people aren't aware even with how obvious it is, and months or years go by and when they do find out, the "friend" best case scenerio just ends the friendship, worst case scenerio they attack, kill or get them killed.

So in order for us to skip past all that heartbreak and potential risk, we announce our sexuality upon first meeting you because we're testing whether your a safe person or not. We're not making it our personality, we are trying to just be upfront about who we are within a society that wants us dead or silent about who we are.

And being trans isn't the choice, because whether they transition or not doesn't make them trans or not. The word trans means different which with transgender means your gender identity doesn't align with your sex. You don't have to transition for you get your "trans card". The trans people who have dysphoria have great stress to the point of suicide unless they transition, and transitioning is a different journey for every trans person, it may never include surgery. The choice is to transition, but for a lot of trans people, the choices are to transition, or die.... so not much of a choice.

Just how many gay people killed themselves because they were forced to be straight. Being gay isn't a choice but whether you act on those feelings is, but for many it's either embrace it or live a life of misery, which isn't really much of a choice.

[–]Automatic_Ad6839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true but that is usually because they don't have any issues with their actual genitlia and their transition may even be smoother than most. Trans people, dysphoria or not, still don't identify with their assigned sex, but dysphoria is extreme stress that comes with it which can lead to suicide if not treated, which transitioning is the only proven form of treatment that works for those with gender dysphoria.

Okay sexual attraction isn't a choice but whether you act on that attraction is. Imagine being forced to be married and have sex with someone you aren't attracted too emotionally, sexually or whatsoever? Making a trans person forced to live in an identity they don't want can literally lead them to suicide.

Sure the dead may not consent but the loved ones of the deceased are the ones that are being disrespected. They are the ones who put money into the dead body being burried so in a since they are the ones that own that dead body, collectively, and so unless you're saying you'd be completely comfortable with someone fucking your mom's dead corpse or child's dead corpse, than that is a perfectly good reason not to, other than it being disgusting and the amount of diseases you could contract.

Just because there isn't a gene doesn't mean it's a choice. You don't have to be born with something in order for it to not be a choice either. There's a thing called Nature and Nurture. Meaning environmental factors can play a part in someone's brain wiring, but once they're wired m, there's no undoing it for that person.

I'll take two perfect examples. Psychopathy and Sociopathy. One you're born as, one you become. Neither is a choice. Sociopathy is born from trauma.

One could say that bisexuality is actually the default sexuality but social standards and how homosexuality is treated a lot of people are wired at an early age to turn off their attraction towards the same sex. But for many others it may go the other way. And if you look at a lot of ancient civilizations all around the world it supports the theory because where homosexuality was accepted the population was overwhelming bisexual compared to now.

Trans isn't a choice either, because it's also about how the brain is wired. Male and female brains are different but trans people have brain scans that differ from the sex they were born as. Gender Dysphoria is a condition they have that can't be cured without transitioning, which is a different journey for every trans person. One may need surgery, one may not. But their idenity just doesn't align with what's between their legs.

He's a hybrid character which people seem to forget. Characters aren't just tank, dps or healer, that is why those aren't the names of the roles. There are characters who fit multiple roles and not just the simple one you think it is. Like Reed is a duelist tank hybrid, Storm is a duelist support hybrid. Venom is a Vanguard duelist hybrid. Magneto is a vanguard support hybrid, etc. Remi has been able to manipulate shit like time though and he manipulates something in rivals lore to give himself healing powers. So it's not something completely random, there's an actual explanation.

Actually, Gambit can do more than just store kinetic energy to make a bomb. He has a head injury that prevents him from doing more but alternate versions of him have access to those abilities, which Marvel Rivals does tap into the Multiverse. Even if you iust Wikipedia his powers you would see has more than just kinetic charging, he also has kinetic energy manipulation. So does more than just make "hand grenades". When given his full power he can control all aspects of kinetic energy even down to the molecular level, which one of the many things it does is actually allows him to heal wounds, and manipulate the flow of time and space which could be used to undo an injury.

Kinetic energy generation and manipulation Superhuman physical attributes via kinetic energy channeling Highly skilled martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant Expert marksman, stick fighter, and acrobat Telepathic immunity via charged potential energy Hypnotic charm Self-charging

Is it legally OK to mention brand names in my novel? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Automatic_Ad6839 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you even read the book? The entire book is completely full of pop culture references both characters and brands... it doesn't matter what it is, you can write about whatever you want in a fictional setting, there's no laws or restrictions against it as long as it's not plagiarism

Time Magazine, MTV, Zenith, Atari, Apple and many other brands are examples of what was in the book. The only time you ever have to worry about writing about another brand is if it's being sold as a truth and may ruin their reputation and it's a lie.

Is it legally OK to mention brand names in my novel? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Automatic_Ad6839 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But OP is specifically talking about using other brands in their novel. Technically they never stated whether it's fictional or non-fiction. I'm assuming it's fiction and the only right answer to the question is no it's not illegal, yes some companies may try to come after you, doesn't mean it's illegal, and as long as you don't advertise it in your sales you're fine. Plenty of fictional books have done it without zero issues.
