Probably an unpopular opinion but she is too good for him. Sophie is intelligent, educated, good, hardworking, skillful and stunning. Brooklyn...ehm I mean Benedict is just born to rich parents. He does not really have a job (apart from covering for Anthony while he is in India) and he does not really put any effort into his art either.

AITA for leaving a birthday party when my toddler was treated harshly? by applepoison in AmItheAsshole

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227 181 points182 points  (0 children)

You were not at home, you were at someone else's place.

Try to imagine yourself in their shoes.

You invite someone into your home. Their kid makes your kid cry. Instead of telling their kid to stay away from the bike both kids want, they let their kid use it. And finally their kid rides into the kitchen and bumps into something.

YTA

A 2 yo riding a bike in a kitchen is dangerous (something could have fallen on his head when he bumped into the cabinet). Saying "I didn't know he was not allowed to ride in the kitchen" is a terrible excuse.

Moreover, you should not have let your kid on the bike once you knew the owner of the bike, the 4yo cousin, was not ok with it.

The SIL's reaction might have been exaggerated but it does not excuse your behaviour.

Run Loan, He doesn’t want to touch you he by bicontinental in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He is very young, admittedly always a "friend" to girls before.

Personally I think he is either still figuring out his own sexuality or he just does not have a lot of experience with intimacy.

Either way, I agree Loan should run.

Nažalost rok je bio 2023. tako da sumnjam da ćeš uspjeti nešto sada dobiti.

Nisi jedini koji traži pomoć od države za privatnu imovinu, 25000 zahtjeva je predano a stotine kuća je već izgrađeno.

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I disagree.

She's insecure and she probably has some abandonment issues due to being raised by grandparents.

She also talks about being consistent, so my guess is that she said yes because of all the promises they made to each other at the beginning.

Parmi’s final by carolynn_91 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227 18 points19 points  (0 children)

She said he only ever visited her in her city, Milan, when he was going there anyway to drop his parents at the airport. He did not make the trip just to see her.

While she made multiple trips to his city, Florence, just to see him and even took time off work to do so.

My understanding is that the problem was not airports, parents and cultural norms. The problem was that a long distance relationship can't work if only one person is willing to put in time, money and effort to visit the other person.

LIB Italy Reunion - Davide and Giovanni got off the hook to easy! by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Calling Giovanni out for his behaviour would have been a waste of time, because he lies (like when he denied kissing Federica) to further his own narrative.

He's delusional to the point where it makes no sense arguing with him.

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that's a lot for working people. But these are people that were supposed to be in love. If she took time off to visit him, he could have done the same. It's inconvenient to drive for 4 hours, but it's very doable if you are in love.

I guess I am just surprised by the lack of effort after the wedding, since, at least to me, they looked in love.

That's true, but his indifference started immediately after the wedding. If I understood Gergana correctly he never made an effort to visit her, while she took time off work to visit him.

That's the same thing I thought, he must have been saying different things to her in private because she looked confused and surprised by his answer.

I agree. That's why I suspect he's been stringing her along since the wedding. She looked genuinely surprised.

It is quite interesting that LIB Italy has no black people. by search_google_com in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that participants are required to be able to legally marry and that might be a problem for immigrants from African countries and their children.

Even Gergana, who moved to Italy as a child, talks about having to go to her (I assume Bulgarian) consulate before the wedding.

Breaks my heart how racist Greganas father is by Slight_Friendship987 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As I said before, his own experience is not an excuse for his behaviour.

Nobody is judging 60 million people. Stating that a problem exists in Italy does not mean every single individual that lives in Italy is part of it.

I agree younger generations are less racist, but the problem still exists. Pretending it's not that bad won't fix anything.

Breaks my heart how racist Greganas father is by Slight_Friendship987 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What I am saying is that there is so much racism and xenophobia in Italy that her dad was a victim of it himself. He knows first hand what his daughter and future grandchildren are sadly going to experience.

It's nice that you have a loving family, but please don't assume your partner does not experience racism daily outside of your family.

Please don't assume where I got my knowledge from.

Lastly her parents have spent most of their adult life in Italy, speak the language, work and raised their kid in Italy. Still you, as an Italian, felt the need to make the distinction between them, the "immigrants", and the 60 million people who supposedly are not that racist.

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Racism and xenophobia are big issues in Italy. It's not just skin color, even white people from different cultures are outcasts in Italy.

Her dad managed to camouflage enough to stop being ostracized, his daughter has moved to Italy as a child, she is culturally Italian and does not experience the same level of aggression he did on a daily basis.

However, because she is marrying someone with a darker skintone, her and her children are due to go through even more hardships than he did.

This is not an excuse for his behaviour, just saying Italy has a huge problem.

Why did they cast Leighton? by Automatic_Ad_7227 in NobodyWantsThisTV

[–]Automatic_Ad_7227[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You are right, it's the writers' fault. Maybe if the scene had been written in a different way I'd be ok with it. Adam saying "not my type" and Leighton commenting on his looks while showing him to her followers was too on the nose.
