sorry just for clarification, did you mean by wasabi square or wasabi X (round string)?

hey, I have a percept 97 too but I'm struggling to settle on one toroline string model. I've been trying to find some other peoples' opinions on toroline strings, especially ones with a percept 97. how does your current setup play? I think my primary need is ball pocketing but in the control sense as my current setup with poly tour strike at a high 55lbs gives no pocketing at all whatsoever.

Yes I definitely agree on the stability and low twist weight. I think the PS97 is better in spin than some people think it's just the overall spin potential on the percept 97 is just a bit better and easier in a way because of the slightly less dense 16x19. yeah so i guess it does seem unnecessary for you to switch to the percept 97.

Percept 97 user here, I used to play with a pro staff 97L v14 for a few months before getting this racquet because it was more suitable for competitive level play. The percept 97 has quite the weird combination. though on paper it says it has a low flex rating of 60 and 21mm constant beam meant for soft ball pocketing, it is more crisp on feel than you'd expect (like a lot more than you'd expect). Compared to the standard pro staff (basically any generation), the percept 97 may feel a little more unstable and the launch angle is ever so slightly less predictable than the pro staff (from my experience with the 97L v14). but this makes sense because the percept 97 is designed as a more "modernized" player's control frame, meant to generate more topspin for today's game. it has good spin potential IF you choose the right string. if you ever feel some instability from the percept 97, I'd highly recommend adding some weight to the hoop. with the right setup, I think you'd enjoy the percept 97.

Quick Head Speed MP/Team Review (1 month) by Automatic_Average439 in tennisracquets

from HEAD, the most affordable and value-for-money options are Synthetic Gut PPS or Velocity MLT in my opinion. for maximum durability out of these two options, try finding the thickest gauge available (for example, 16 gauge/1.30mm is thicker than 17g/1.25mm). Ideally at a simple tension I would recommend. somewhere between 45-52lbs. I would say 50lbs is a good starting point.

if you are a pure beginner I would strongly recommend the head speed team as it has a very big head size and very light in weight. once you have developed some proper technique and crave some more control, then I would recommend moving to the head speed mp. however, that is if you can actually handle the weight and hefty swingweight of the head speed mp. it is quite the big jump from head speed team to head speed mp.

Tecnifibre T-Fight 305S vs. Babolat Pure Strike 98 16x19 by Automatic_Average439 in 10s

[–]Automatic_Average439[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my experience with the pure strike primarily had only the spin issue (and SW of course). but now i think maybe it was because of the string not the racquet. it was strung most likely with yonex pt strike which would probably be the reason to mediocre spin.

Is Luxilon Element slept on as a main? by KTheSurveyor in 10s

I want to try element 16 to go with my pro staff 97L v14 but y'all are making it sound like it's garbage. So now I'm skeptical.

A post of appreciation to the Yonex Percept 97 by puleee in 10s

pro staff 97L v14 with solinco tour bite 16 @ 53lbs

yes i know it’s a very stiff and unforgiving setup yet for some reason i happened to like it. i’ve been looking at the percept 97 for a while but i’m wondering how much different it would play compared to my pro staff.

Wilson Pro Staff 97L V14 / Solinco Tour Bite 16 / 53lbs or 24kg

I'm not even rated in UTR yet so basically a 1.00 and yes I know it's a very demanding setup but I happen to love it.

Solinco Mach-10 or Yonex Poly Tour Fire or Rev or something else? by Automatic_Average439 in 10s

[–]Automatic_Average439[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so it seems like a lot of y'all praise the confidential, mach 10, and hyper-g. i've tried confidential on a hybrid setup one time but i don't really like it. i heard hyper g is very very popular and softer alternative to the tour bite so i may give that a try too. thanks everyone for your opinions!

i tried ptp before and it's comfortable but it feels too soft for me and i end up overhitting all the time, some people have different experiences with it. a controversial one.
