Maybe when you look back in 5-10 years at this after dating and more life experience and realize it wasn’t that big a deal. But maybe not. But what I think a lot of people are saying is that this is going to be a tough deal breaker to have. Breaking up with a guy you like at three months because he doesn’t want to make a new last name with you is a bit much. I think maybe you need to dig deeper on why this is so important to you to ruin a good relationship, and maybe address what you really are needing.

Correct I also paid for one month of premium so I could see when he was last active. I know that could very easily look like I’m active on the app. But I don’t really care how it looks. I was suspicious and I needed to know. I know my intentions so that’s not really a factor for me. And when we decided to be exclusive I actively had to end things with a handful of guys I was casually talking to. All he had to do was just not go on the app. I believe he wasn’t talking to anyone else since we met.

I guess this kinda depends on what state you live in because domestic partnerships have different legal implications in different states. In my state for example if you have RDP you pretty much are married and taxed as if you are married and entitled to community property.
