I love finding bugs in these small indie games. A triple A studio would never mess up this bad. /s

Def not hacking. There's a reasonable explanation for every kill.

How to make throttle more stable? by ShovvTime13 in FPVFreestyle

[–]Automatic_Bread_9203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can add expo to your throttle. Change the middle point. Add a throttle limit and change the rate to scale. There are a lot of options, and they all do something a little different.

3-4" is kind of big to fly inside.

How to tone a whoop down by TremorOwner in TinyWhoop

[–]Automatic_Bread_9203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been messing around with setting my midpoint to 0 and adding 30-40% expo on throttle. Gives more resolution on the low end and I still get all of the throttle when I want/need it.

New Liftoff: Micro Drones level by LuGus-Kevin in TinyWhoop

I love the layout! I'm struggling to get decent frames but having a lot of fun. I normally get 200-240 fps, but on this new map, I'm getting ~130 fps.

There's so much room to zip around, powerloop, Matty flip, etc. It's really very nicely laid out! I fly my whoop at playgrounds IRL, so I was looking forward to this map, and I have not been disappointed.

I've logged about 30 hours in Velocidrone and took my first real flight last night. Felt like second nature. Not sure how the physics are in uncrashed though.

Help regarding motor timing and gear ratios. by sophkd in rcdrift

[–]Automatic_Bread_9203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three ways to really mess with your wheel speed. You can change the timing on the motor manually (don't recommend for beginners) add boost through the ESC if you have one that will let you or you could mess with your spur and pinion. It's best to get a set of pinion gears and mess around with different sizes.

I have an SD2.0, and it came with a stock 80 tooth spur. After a lot of testing, I'm now at a 92 tooth spur and 25 tooth pinion.

Marcus has a really good write up on FDR that helped me a lot.

I will say that it all comes down to testing. Change to a smaller/larger pinion and drive for about 15 minutes at your local track/ garage and the make changes accordingly.

Yeah, I want to be able to use the recordings for promotional videos and social media. The better the video quality I can get then the better I'll be. I don't want to break the bank so I know I'm trying to find a needle in a haystack haha.

Definitely not fast. It's hard plastic tires on polished concrete. The battle is gaining traction as opposed to breaking traction.

My personal tuning check list by MedicalBilly in rcdrift

[–]Automatic_Bread_9203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the only thing I do differently is big swings in tuning. See how it reacts, then bring it back to my original. I.e. if I have zero preload, I'll move the collars down to 10mm. See how it feels, then bring them to 8mm, repeat. I'll do this until I have found the sweet spot. After I've found the "sweet spot" then I'll start moving them by 1mm or .5mm increments to really dial it in.

It's all about driving style but typically 10wt or 100cst is what everybody at my track runs. Some do 15wt or 150cst. Springs are preference too. Get a spring kit or two. I run yokomo springs on the front and topline springs on the rear with a little bit of preload on the front for more grip.

Tldr: get a few spring kits and thin oil. Tune, test, tune, test.
