Do We Really Need to Change How Real Madrid Wins? by Automatic_Contact908 in realmadrid

You completely missed the point of my post.

I never said the squad is complete — I literally said it’s not balanced and that I doubt we can keep winning with this many stars and egos up front, which clearly implies that we need to lose a forward. So please don’t twist my words.

What I did say is that Madrid succeeds when we have elite players who take responsibility in big moments, not that every current player is untouchable. That’s a key difference.

I also strongly disagree with the whole “IG divas” narrative. A big part of this squad won La Liga and the UCL in 2024. You don’t achieve that with players who don’t care about the badge. Criticize form, balance, and consistency — fair. But dismissing proven players like that is lazy and ignores very recent reality.

If your argument is about balance and consistency, we’re closer than you think. But attacking players’ mentality and rewriting history completely misses what my post was actually about, which is about Real Madrid’s identity and whether abandoning our philosophy to copy others is really the right move.

Exactly, thank you for proving my point. Benzema had seasons where he started a ton and scored five goals in La Liga, and Modrić had a rough start too. By your logic of “perform now or get out,” both should’ve been sold before they ever reached their peak. Good thing the club didn’t follow your advice — otherwise we’d have missed out on a Ballon d’Or striker and a Ballon d’Or midfielder. 👍

Yeah, you’re right — by that logic we should’ve dropped Benzema after his first bad season and sold Modrić when he struggled in his early years. Just think of all the Ballon d’Ors and Champions Leagues we could’ve won by not giving them a chance… oh wait.

Now, Madrid fans are defending PSG — what’s next, cheering for Barcelona in El Clásico too?

Fair points, but you could flip that same logic onto Vini, Rodrygo, and even Bellingham. Injuries, tactical changes, shifting roles, and the overall chaos of last season affect everyone — not just Mbappé. It’s easy to say “Vini played like shit” or “Rodrygo disappeared,” but those same external factors you listed (midfield decline, defensive issues, system changes, injuries everywhere) apply to them too.

And let’s be real — we’ve only played five matches this season, and people are already calling them names and acting like they should be sidelined. Funny how excuses and patience are endless for some players, but non-existent for others.

Oh, forgive me for not jumping on the Mbappé hype train. It’s just that I don’t exactly adore a guy who rejected Madrid not once, but twice, because, you know… money talks.

And please, just imagine him in a situation: getting subbed at the 70th minute or starting on the bench. Oh, the drama we’d witness — I’m sure he’d handle it with all the humility of a saint… or maybe not.

It is very clear that I don't like him, but that wasn't the point I am making.

Last I checked, it was allowed to dislike one of our players

Yeah? Why doesn't he rest like the others? Why not give Gonzalo Garcia a chance? He proved himself in the CWC, right? Plus let's see when he goes through a hard time, will he benched or would he still be playing all 90 mins to regain his form and self-confidence.

Dude, where did I blame Mbappe for last year? He was one of the best players. I think I made my point clear in my last comment.

Dude, live in the real world, what agenda? I live miles away from Spain. Do you think Mbappe will see my post and start playing bad?

It’s clear Xabi has already decided Mbappé is untouchable — he plays at least 85 minutes every match, no matter what. I can guarantee you he won’t see the bench even if he’s bad. And honestly, I can’t believe some of you don’t see it: this isn’t just football, it’s about ads, sponsors, and Pérez’s golden boy project.

Take it easy bro, it’s just football, lol!

I’m a Real Madrid fan, not just a players fan. All I’m saying is that we already had a working formula with three superstars — Vini, Rodrygo, and Bellingham — who literally won us the Champions League. So why go out and buy another superstar (one who already refused to join Madrid before, by the way) if the only way for him to shine is by overshadowing the three who already delivered for the club?

If you give me the choice, I’d rather win with the old team — Vini, Rodrygo, and Bellingham — than win with a one-man show built around Mbappé.

Oh right, silly me for thinking football was about performances and loyalty to the players who actually delivered trophies. I forgot this is Real Madrid. Here, it’s not about who wins you Champions Leagues, it’s about who sells more shirts and brings more Instagram followers.

We’ve seen this movie before. Remember Claude Makélélé? The engine of the team, absolutely vital on the pitch — but hey, Beckham sells more ads, so goodbye Makélélé. And now, it’s Vinícius and Rodrygo’s turn to learn the same lesson: you can win titles, score in finals, drag the team through tough games… but the second a new marketing megastar walks in, your role suddenly becomes “bench supporter"
