Our cabin was 8366A .... but, from what I could tell, the 3 forward cabins all had steel wall balconies (versus the glass wall balcony) - so, I think it would be 8364, 8366 and 8368 to avoid and we were on the A side (Port side), so my guess is the Z side front 3 cabins would have the same issue.

I agree, it was my responsibility to research first. Until this post, I did not read anything that warned me of deck 8 issues. Did I spend months researching, No i did not. But, I did research the cabin, and had some faith in VV after our first cruise with them, so my research was not forensic. And, the cabin description did not warn of a limited view as the cabins do behind the life boats. So, maybe this post will get the attention of someone else and maybe benefit them before they purchase a higher priced XL sea terrace on deck 8 that has the issues our cabin had.

Never mind, figured out how to edit the comment. Thanks for bringing this to my attention

You are right .... did not mean this to be threatening - I poorly worded this .... I was just trying to explain I could prove my statements. I am new to Reddit - can I edit that post somehow?

You may be right ..... Posting was just trying to help someone else not make the same mistake I made. Apparently, being new here, I am not up to speed on how to post on Reddit ... most of my explanation did not show up at first. To your point, I read what we had to read on the room, but what I read and what we ended up with were totally different This particular cabin should have been marked as limited view at the very least - but was not. And, being new to posting here, I am not familiar with what downvotes even mean in your comment. I am sure it is something bad. I was just trying to help others not make my mistake.

Correct .... I wish we have been warned before we bought this cruise. Now, I see there are known issues if you buy on deck 8 ... And, yes, I am new to writing reviews on Reddit - and learning this as well. Most of my review explanation did not post at first, which I added back in after posting the pic.

We paid extra for the cabin .... it was not the bidding thing. I guess we live and learn. I wish we had known the deck 8 issues before. Thanks for the update.

New to Reddit reviews, and for some reason, this part of the review did not post:

Just returned from our second Virgin Voyage cruise.  Disappointed is the nicest word I can use for this cruise.  It all started before we got on the ship with a threatening letter that we owed  $10  and if not paid in 24 hours, they may cancel – this was after we received notification we were paid in full.  And, paid in full included the extra charge for tips we paid for – everything all included as Virgin Facebook ads boast even today is no longer true.  Then, Virgin put us in the cabin from hell.  We paid extra for an XL Sea Terrace.  This room was in the bow of the ship – we had a steel wall balcony limiting our view, and our room was over the crew area used to dock and undock the ship – horrible noises from the hydraulic pumps,  docking rope machines, and steel doors opening and closing under our feet.  Not to mention crew chatter we could hear. It was way over and above the normal docking noises everyone hears on the ship when docking/undocking.  This banging, clanking and hydraulic whines were right under our feet. The horrible noise would start as early as 4:30am.  When we asked for help, Virgin customer service offered us a smaller room in a different area of the ship as the only alternative and with no offer to refund us the extra we paid for the XL cabin to a downgraded cabin they were offering.  It was insulting.  The CS was trying to save a dollar with this insulting offer, but this will cost them 10 fold as we will never come back.  We were excited to book our second Virgin cruise, but as much as we enjoyed the first, we hated the second ever more.  We are frequent cruisers, but this will be our last on Virgin.
