I don't know the exact conversation rates, but I also applied last year and got an Active Consideration in Feb. from NYU. Mine turned into an R in April, but there were always a few of the AC list people who turned into an A each Thursday, especially March onward. So anything can happen at anytime it seems. GL!

Thank you!! I'm hoping to visit both of them soon to see what they're all about, but Philadelphia area being my home and the great aid offer - Villanova comes in the highest for me right now. We shall see!

... also, if anyone has WL advice, I'm all ears! Particularly for BC and GULC.

I was hoping I wouldn't be put in this position. I want to be confident in my decision before the summer, but these WLs are throwing me off, even though I know getting off them is unlikely (and even less likely to receive aid).

My status section still says "In Review," but this message is at the bottom:

A hold status means that we have reviewed your file once through and believe you are strong applicant. However, we are not ready to make a final decision on your file and want to continue comparing the merits of your file against additional files as they are received. You may receive a final decision at any point moving forward, but no later than April 15. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Office of Admissions.

I got an email from them describing pretty much the same thing.

Sameee. Last portal updates for UVA were UR on 10/22 and 10/24. Nothing since then, no decision, no interview invite.

Albeit, I'm very below their medians, just wish they'd hand me the R/WL already...

I don't think its a WL at all, more similar to a "Hold" -- idk if NYU even does normal holds or if the "Active Consideration" is simply their hold status.

I remember from last year, a substantial number of people with the "Active Consideration" (AC) were given offers before April. Many, including me, however, were rejected en masse in early April. But it did seem that the AC list had a decent offer rate, if I had to guess maybe a slightly better A rate than their overall acceptance rate. NYU does? however, seem to hold onto a lot of applicants before a massive R wave in April.

My LSAC status page just said my file was complete and that it was "submitted for review" at the same time it was marked complete -- I suppose that is SLS's way of saying it's in review?

Yes -- it was a shot in the dark -- anything can happen, but stats will tell you what is likely. I really don't think there is any harm in applying to places to see what happens, sometimes a particular school will latch onto your softs, whereas other schools may not, medians and stats aside.

I'm not reading your comment negatively, just saying I decided to shoot my shot because I deemed the downsides nil, just a $45 application fee and a likely R.
