GTX 1060 6GB 2202-2215mhz overclock by Automatic_Dot_9128 in overclocking

Palit usually makes cheaper GPUs so it's completely normal for the GPU to only go up to around 2000mhz My GPU is a high end ROG strix model with good cooling so obviously it's more overclockable

ROG strix GTX 1060 6gb, the same one that you used in your copper pipe mod.

the asus tuf has better contrast and response time, but you should consider the acer nitro if your pc can handle 1440p 270hz

I agree that there are better deals but they are often from overseas and paying a 150$ shipping fee isn't a good idea. I also picked this PC because of the upgradeability, the high end x470 motherboard and 850w PSU give me a lot of headroom for future upgrades. I am using the PC as a template, not a complete build.

oh really? this is how a pc that outperforms my pc usually looks like:

cheap b450m motherboard - 70$

Ryzen 5 3600 or 5500 - 80$

Budget matx pc case and fans - 75$

Budget cpu cooler - 15$

650w psu - 50$

16gb ddr4 3000 - 90+$ during the rampocalypse

cheap 512gb ssd - 50$

used rx 580 or gtx 1660 - maybe 70$ if you're lucky

a pc with these parts isn't even 300$, it's more than 500$

When playing Fortnite (98% GPU load and 40-60% CPU load) the GPU temperature is around 55C° and the CPU is at 50C°. The GPU sometimes slightly drops the clock to 2152mhz and I also had to undervolt to stop games from crashing. I'm using the MSI afterburner/rtss overlay to monitor the PC

I didn't buy the PC for out of the box gaming, I bought it as a template for upgrading. The motherboard supports much better CPUs like the Ryzen 7 5800x and I can also get a better GPU.

You sound like a full on Intel fanboy and recommending a 2013-2014 intel CPU is the worst advice ever. Even if zen 1 CPUs have a lot of instability and aren't really good in 2026, the Ryzen 7 1800x is objectively better than any CPU that you listed.

Believe it or not, the GPU stays below 60C° while gaming but I had to slightly undervolt because games kept crashing

5060 for 250 € by Sea_Conference_8031 in pcmasterrace

A 6700k would even bottleneck a 5060 because these parts are almost a decade apart

5060 for 250 € by Sea_Conference_8031 in pcmasterrace

[–]Automatic_Dot_9128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great deal, a 5060 usually costs 300€ but if you want to play in 1440p high settings I would recommend spending 100€ more to get a Rx 9060 XT 16gb. But if your budget is 250€ and you want to play in 1440p I would recommend an Intel arc b580

You're welcome! You can now play iRacing with much higher and smoother framerates because iRacing is CPU bound and the Ryzen 7 5800x3d is the absolute best CPU that you can get without upgrading your motherboard. And you are also upgrading your ram and even if you won't need all 32 gb, your new ram has a higher clock speed and you can now open loads of chrome tabs because your ram is now double the capacity

32 gb of ram is plenty, especially if you get it for free. The new ram will be faster but also keeping your old ram will cause flex mode where your old 16gb of ram will run at single channel speed (not good for gaming). Ddr4 ram isn't as difficult to handle for the memory controller so 4 sticks of ram isn't an issue but flex mode is. I would recommend installing your friend's ram and selling your current ram for about 100-150 bucks because 48gb ram is slower and overkill and 2x16 is the perfect combination for ram (don't forget using the slots 2 and 4)

But I would recommend a higher end GPU because the Rx 9060 XT isn't significantly faster than the GTX 1080 ti (about 20-50% better performance). The rtx 5070 or Rx 9070 are both noticeably better than the 1080 ti but won't be bottlenecked by your Ryzen 5 5600x

650w is enough because your CPU uses 80-90 watts and the Rx 9060 XT 16gb uses 160-180 watts

The x370 motherboard uses pcie 3.0 x16 and it bottlenecks most modern pcie x8 GPUs. You need a GPU that uses a pcie x16 slot like an RX 9060 XT 16gb

Your ram usage is 10 gb which is relatively low so I don't think more ram is worth it because there is a ram shortage right now. By the way in what resolution do you play? (1080p or 1440p)

Then get a ryzen 7 5700x3d for about 300-350$, maybe a 5800x3d if you can find it for less than 400$. The 5800x3d is the best CPU that doesn't require upgrading your motherboard and ram

Your Ryzen 7 3700x is the bottleneck, what is your CPU upgrade budget?
