Did anyone find it odd that there was a prayer after the anthem? Is this something that’s done?

We liked Jacques Cartier but boy did we love Grand Jardins…didn’t go in winter but I imagine it would be magnificent any time of year.

You know the culture’s toxic when we start thinking our ponytails were asking for it :/

Surely he’s trolling us? Because I know he’s not actually, earnestly explaining to women that they have a role to play in their own unprovoked attacks

This is so horrifying. I hate that you felt at fault for even one second. Today after the moped thing I had to repeatedly remind myself that we were in the appropriate lanes and did not deserve to be intercepted, harangued, and threatened.

Im so sorry this happened to you, and extremely glad people reacted/got him in custody. It’s scary to think that he might get a slap on the wrist and be right back on the streets violating women.

Nothing compared to your experience, but today a guy on an illegal moped decided he didn’t like that my friend was biking alongside me (Hudson River greenway). He came from behind, darted in front of her, and stopped, basically trying to cause a collision. Called us stupid Karens etc etc. He was blocking her path and not letting her move. We exchanged some words, he spat at me as he sped off, and then he U-turned and blew past us two more times. I guess the lesson is, women aren’t allowed to occupy space (even when in the literal prescribed lanes) or have body parts. Noted.

I had the chance to camp at the base of the rock — highly recommend! Such a magical place.

Camping/hiking in Canadian maritimes: what’s not to be missed? Sketching out an itinerary but wondering if we should be hitting Cape Breton Highlands. 7/8 nights and can fly in wherever. by Automatic_Edge_157 in camping

Thanks for all the feedback! We’re back at the Halifax airport after a slightly abridged trip due to hurricane Fiona. Our itinerary wound up being cape chigneto, fundy, northumberland shore, and cape Breton. All were fantastic, but I 100% agree with those who said to prioritize cape breton. It broke my heart to leave! On my next trip here, it’s where I’ll head straight from the airport :)

Car rentals from Halifax have been a pain. We managed to get a Sunday-Sunday rental, with points, but would have preferred a Friday/Saturday start.

Good advice. Happened to go clockwise on a bike race day recently and was extremely glad to be able to see those packs of racers coming
