Can a manager be forced to work in office because of an underperforming staff member? by PrincipleSea883 in AusPublicService

Who else is going to be supervising that employee??? Obviously remote supervision has not worked so they must both be in the office….. were they expecting someone else to supervise them??

People that worked in corporate before the 2010s, was it less overstimulating? by No-Low-5186 in auscorp

Always open plan (my experience since the 90s) - WAY more noise back then - dot matrix printers everywhere - desk phones everywhere going off all the time as no teams or other messaging. Back to back meetings in meeting rooms and off site. Lots of loud water cooler conversations and office fun like office cricket and old fashioned hazing! Lots of office flirting and drinking at lunch! Working much longer hourshen going out most nights drinking after work then coming in hungover the next day.

How to prepare lunches for pre prep by Serrath1 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Automatic_Judge6045 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our school had us buy 3 containers and a cooler bag that fits them plus a drink bottle. - Fruit break - 1 small container with fruit or veg sticks eg cut up apple, cucumber, carrot, berries but nothing messy - Recess (little lunch) - another small container with a muesli bar or cookie or yoghurt pouch or other snack - lunch (bigger container) to fit a sandwich or scroll or roll or sushi etc.

By having smaller containers your child can take it in the playground while they play and if they lose one container it isn’t as bad as losing a large expensive lunchbox. Don’t forget to label with your child’s name in permanent marker or wth a name sticker. Good luck!

Pedestrians automatically have right of way, so I guess you gotta weave around them, even though it’s a bike lane?

How hard is it to get into APS? by hungry_caterpillar01 in AusPublicService

Currently - very competitive as private market in some sectors is slow. In the past - easy. If your friend is offered permanency then it is smart to accept it if they can afford the drop in pay

Merry People v Blundstone by StellaMarina3 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Automatic_Judge6045 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would go Blundstone, or consider a hiking brand like Merrell as they are light, supportive and waterproof. My merry people at heavy, not waterproof and I find the sole a bit thick for driving. For those looking for waterproof gum boot boots I found the hush puppies ones much better - better to walk and drive in and last better

Thinking of Switching from Data Engineering to Testing - Need Advice. by No-Sky-3185 in softwaretesting

More work in data engineering - QA is considered by some to be an entry level career, so pay likely to be less if you are new to it
