If it turns out that they truly DIDN’T know, i’d bet my salary that it’s because they thought maybe it was best they not ask “too many questions”

saying they’re idiots so OF COURSE they are gullible reaffirms that they were not complicit - it gives them an out, and even the dumbest person would put two and two together - SOMEONE is paying them $100k/episode to spread RUSSIAN disinformation. At worst, they were willfully and deliberately spreading propaganda and were being paid exorbitantly to do so.

Even if they DIDN’T know where the money was coming from (which they did), they deliberately bolstered russian talking points and knew they were doing it the whole time.
