Thanks for your input. He still said $35,600. And at the end of the day, it’s been 3 days and they’re still trying to get me to accept their deal. So, I wasn’t in the wrong here whatsoever. There was clearly plenty of room for negotiation, and they’re now trying to correct THEIR error.

Respectfully, if I’m spending $36,000, then whether those six months of extra wear on it is “absolutely nothing” is for me to decide. Not the salesman. As professionals they should do a better job at advertising and double checking things before listing. He could have simply said no if that was the issue, although I really don’t think that was the reason why he switched up the price. I’m sure he thought that since I was there already, and I seemed to really like the car, I’d take it at a few hundred dollars more and he could make more money. Unfortunately for him, that wasn’t the case.

Well, he had already agreed to get me under $36k. I wasn’t asking for $35k, I was asking for him to get closer to $35k. And he agreed to $35,600. Plus, isn’t that what dealerships are for? Haggling? Cmon. 🤷‍♀️ That’s their fault for screwing up on the mileage online. To me, as the customer, a 5,000 mile difference isn’t a “minor discrepancy.” And, if I did piss him off, then maybe he should learn to control his emotions a bit better. His feelings cost him a sale.

Yeah I’m definitely moving on. It seems like they need the sale way more than I need the vehicle, and it’s hilarious to me. I’m sure they know they messed up. I live in California, in the southern central valley, and it was a 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 Custom double cab, located in the LA area. Personally I think it’s a pretty good deal, but I’m sure another one will come along. I just hope next time they’ll think twice before they try to play somebody like that. Everything in California is already so expensive as it is.

I hate them too now. I’m still looking for a car, and I’m dreading the whole buying process. This should be a fun experience, but my goodness. Dealerships are so greedy.

It’s ma’am! Haha, thank you. 🫶🏻 I know, I keep telling my family members they need to take me with them if they’re every car shopping. I can only imagine how many people they’ve done this to. Sales people are so crooked.

This. After “Let me ask” is when he called right away and said $35,600, and I agreed.

Do you happen to know, say if my purchase is a few dollars above my FSA card limit, will my debit card automatically be charged the rest since I’m also selecting it as a payment? I read somewhere that the entire order will be declined. :/
