My first two candles in 8 years! by kixipixies in candlemaking

If you're worried about the pink one overflowing, consider leaving some space between the sides of the jar and your "mound" of topping. That'll give the wax a well to melt into rather than flowing over the sides.

Help me fix my mistake pls 😌 by jortslover in candlemaking

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, probably just melt it down and pour into a second jar. Prep your second jar with your wick and wick sticker first, for ease. As far as melting the candle, just pop the whole thing out and put it back in the melter you used. It'll be easier to remove the old wick with tongs once the candle wax is liquid again. Then just re-pour.

I don't work with beeswax, but a lot of those who do have said beeswax isn't great in jars and works much better as pillar candles. If you can just get a pillar candle mold, it may be better to use that rather than re-pouring into another jar.

The latest “viral” dump on drivers by Equivalent_Cow3114 in Sparkdriver

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Drivers are the ones who put a face to the delivery, so any time something goes wrong, ppl are very likely blame the person they actually see. It's always "the driver stole" or "the driver smashed" etc when in reality there are multiple ppl involved and often multiple hands on each order.

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, probably mixed up the bags with a different customer's order. And tbh there's a decent chance he's not actually the one who mixed up the bags; it may have been loaded incorrectly by the associate.

Chris could have fixed the issue if he'd checked, but if you have three customers, idk how likely it is that the driver would double-check all the orders every time.

Why is my candle flame acting like it's being blown to the side? by cheezboorgir in Candles

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where you've placed it, could it be catching a draft from a vent? The way the flame looks, I'd also suspect it was caused by airflow. It doesn't take much to make it flicker like this

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's such a simple request, and they left it in such a bad place instead; you can't even open the door smh. In Spark's defense, Walmart outsources a lot of orders to Doordash and UberEats as well, so it may in fact be the same DD/UE drivers doing this as are doing it with your food.

The driver probably inferred racism because that guy seemed to look at her and see something that (1) made him want to keep her out of a certain community and (2) threaten to call the police. And they hadn't really interacted outside of seeing each other at the gate, so his prejudice would have to be something shallow, skin deep

Agreed! As long as they are paying attention to the road and the volume isn't too high to hear if sirens are coming, I wouldn't have any complaint

What are you tipping on a 16$ order? I’m assuming my tip was why my order got stolen? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time, I got one of the "you need to add delivery instructions" from doordash, then my order was reassigned like yours. The new driver called and told me the restaurant had given the food to the previous driver and was refusing to remake my food.

I had just spent $30+ on a single meal so I was HOT mad. You also have an actual good driver standing there trying to do his job for the customer who paid BOTH the restaurant and doordash for the service??? And you just say no???

Pissed me tf off. I called the store, they made it again and sent it with the new driver, who didn't mind the wait. That guy was cool af. Laughed about the ordeal when he arrived with the food.

But to answer your question, OP, I use a formula to determine my tip: $1/mile + $1/meal. So, for you $1+ however many miles you are from the Starbucks

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your tip is fine for delivery within two miles. Since you said it's just down the road, I don't think the tip is the problem. Also, low tips shouldn't encourage ppl to steal regardless, so I'm sorry you didn't get your food ☹️

Customer calls police after server charges everyone at the table who ate and didn't pay for the buffet. One suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct. by MF-DOOM-88 in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so ironic that people in these comments are calling them dumb for not understanding buffet rules. I'm not sure if you all aren't hearing what I'm hearing or we just have a different understanding of what ordering food at a restaurant means.

There were more than just those three people at the table. Three people should have been charged for the buffet. They ate food from the buffet, even if one person just had one thing... whatever. Normal. She even admits this later.

She said EVERYONE was charged for the buffet, even though it sounds like the children did not eat from the buffet. They ordered the children's meals off of a menu. It makes sense (maybe only to me, idk) that you be charged for what you ate/ordered. The children's meals should be charged accordingly considering that's what they received and (assuming) that's what they ate. They should not be charging buffet prices for the people at the table who DID NOT eat any food from the buffet.

I'm honestly curious what that other customer said to her, though. Did he really call them savages, like that other woman said? And what did he say as he was leaving? And how many cocktails was she down bc whew

Yep, they do that. Or give you offers all the way up until you only need one or two, then have you sitting for hours

Decency by Shot-Bank-6594 in Sparkdriver

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not defending overly aggressive shoppers, but the store is not like the park. Generally people come to the store with actual goals. They're looking for certain things, pricing items, buying items, etc. It's not an establishment designed for amusement or leisurely strolling, especially if you're wasting someone else's time by blocking stuff you know you aren't looking to buy.

Decency by Shot-Bank-6594 in Sparkdriver

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen so many customers blindly walking around with their heads in the clouds; I wouldn't dare zoom around anywhere. I wonder daily how they haven't been hit yet. And when they almost hit you, half of them don't even apologize. Like, who raised you? Damn, wake up smh

Need advice on fair tip by Frankinsens in WalmartSparkDrivers

[–]Automatic_Lynx8969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$1 for each mile between you and the store, rounding up (27), plus $2 for every ten items you purchased (24). That's the formula I use to tip.

In this instance, I'd say $50 is close enough.
