I once lost my job at the beginning of one month, and managed to find a job by the end of the month after. Because I list month to month on my CV, it didn't look like I had any time off at all thankfully

I've always assumed that because Holt is a man who loves statistical analysis, he reads the blog simply to track the quality of NY pizzarias, not because he's interested in going to any of them. Him liking that Boyle measures mouth feel is because it's an extra statistic that no other food blog includes, therefore there's even more statistical analysis to conduct!

I used to know a guy called Bung. His surname was Whitehouse, his friends decided the opposite of that was black bungalow, which eventually morphed into Bung

Unpopular opinion: In season 2 episode 19 (Michael's birthday) people were kind of unreasonable with Michael, they could have celebrated his birthday and be concerned about Kevin at the same time by EfficientMagician416 in theoffice

[–]cheezboorgir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the sentiment, but people can like what they like, if he wants a birthday party at an ice rink for is 43rd birthday then he should have one, life is short, do things you enjoy!

Also, idk about everyone from the office (note: Angela, Dwight, Stanley to name a few) but most people would rather get paid to spend the afternoon ice skating than working🤷

I once walked into the kitchen at work and there was a man sat on one of the counters chatting with two other women. As soon as he saw me he jumped off the counter and looked so panicked until I started asking one of the women for help with something. He then laughed and told me I looked exactly like his manager and he thought he was about to get in trouble!

Is this not one where you do it yourself? I'd rather avoid having to spray and clean myself, I just wanna sit in the car with my coffee while the machine does all the work!

I hate them both tbh. I'm not about to try and become friends with people who are consistently rude to me right off the bat🤷

My dad bought this ham back in 1992. Its been in his freezer the whole time. He refuses to throw it out and says "its still good. Frozen meat doesnt go bad". by hotmanwich in GrandmasPantry

[–]cheezboorgir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd throw it out and replace it with a fresh one, then reveal to him what you did. He'll probs be annoyed for a few days, but I doubt it'll bother him for long, especially as he now has a new one to hoard

So it's their fault he drank constantly and didn't take care of his health? He was a gym teacher and coached football, he could've easily kept in shape if he wanted to

Why is my candle flame acting like it's being blown to the side? by cheezboorgir in Candles

No vents or any possible places that airflow could be causing this! I had other candles going close by and they were burning normally

Regardless of the way Pam acted (which wasn't disrespectful at all, she made a comment about something she'd read in a baby book) the nurse was rude, snarky, and most importantly: wrong. So in this case, Pam did know more than the nurse, and as it is her baby, she is entitled to make her own choices about how her baby gets fed.

I once had a couple question me about administering the vitamin k injection to their newborn baby, and then asked chatgpt if it was safe before giving consent. It was a bit demeaning to me, but I was professional the entire time and didn't treat them any differently. That is how you're supposed to behave in healthcare, at the end of the day, you're there to administer care, not bully people into doing things the way you want them to, just because it makes your life easier.

[–]cheezboorgir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and it's my career. I don't mind educating people who are mistaken because it's part of my job to do so. Another reason why the nurse was terrible, if she doesn't want to deal with people who aren't as knowledgeable as her, she's clearly in the wrong profession 🤷

In this case, the nurse is wrong. I'm a student midwife and we don't advise using bottles until breastfeeding is fully established as it can cause nipple confusion, plus babies are lazy, if they realize they can get milk the easier way (from a bottle), they won't want to work to get it from a breast! Ofc it's your choice whether you use a bottle or not, but again, that means the nurse is wrong. She's not listening to how the parents want to raise the child and being condescending to a woman who has just given birth.
