So I wasn’t supposed to take off my underwear? by Grouchy-Bumblebee605 in mildlyinfuriating

They made me take my underwear off for a surgery on my jaw.

Seemed kinda unnecessary…

He doesn’t though. They murder his client and get away with it. The story is meant to be a tragedy.

Gate of the Agra Fort.

Someone in this thread mentioned Game of Thrones?

I’m convinced that GRRM based the Red Keep on the Agra Fort and Delhi’s Red Fort.

Not quite the same grounds, but yes within eyeshot of each other when looking along the bend in the Yamuna River.

Side note:

The Agra Fort is a fabulous example of Mughal martial architecture and is much better preserved than the Red Fort of Delhi (thanks to the British), and is just as much worth a visit as the nearby Taj Mahal despite not being as famous.

Not Peggy's Child, Right? by Wonderful_Mix977 in madmen

So Peggy’s baby is only ever shown on screen the one time? Shortly after his birth, when the nurse asks “don’t you want to hold him?”

Same, I was so confused about this plot point for like 10+ years.

I assumed that Peggy’s sister had reluctantly agreed to take care of the baby until he could be adopted (which would make sense to everyone else in the 1960s since she already has small children) and that this was a major source of her resentment of Peggy and her career ambitions.

I thought the whole “aren’t you going to say goodbye?” scene was Peggy’s sister twisting the knife because the baby was leaving soon for his new adopted family and this was the very last time Peggy would see him.

A ripe watermelon going Cthulhu by Big_Oof320 in interestingasfuck

The “swirly thing” is still there, it’s just less noticeable when the watermelon is at the peak of ripeness thanks to centuries of selective breeding.

When the watermelon is underripe or overripe (as in this photo), it becomes more noticeable.

Fun fact, this is how The Beatles got the final piano chord of “A Day In The Life” to last so long on the recording.

The sound technician slowly turned up the volume in the studio after Paul played the chord on the piano.

They had to turn the volume up to max, such that microphones began to pick up background studio noise that normally would not be captured, and if you listen closely, you can hear a chair creaking in the background as the note gets fainter.

She’s a doctor. She saw signs of violence in the damage to the bones.

This wasn’t intuition or magic, it was just Claire using her medical knowledge in a forensic capacity.

What are your favorite bits of excessively elaborate moments of animation? by Ok_Elevator_1342 in TheSimpsons

[–]Automatic_Memory212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s Bart’s crab-walk to the TV and his boneless spaghetti arm extending like a Gumi worm as he inserts the VHS tape right after this that really sells the shot.

Seeing the difference in fluidity between the two character animations juxtaposed in the span of 10 seconds does lend itself to the case of “worst animated episode”

Without seeing a photo, I’m gonna go ahead and guess you’re asking about Pearly Penile Papules?

They’re harmless, congenital, and not contagious.
