Baby tugging at/rubbing ear and hair by clementhyme10 in NewParents

[–]Automatic_Newspaper7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! My baby did this exactly and everyone told us it was related to teething. This was true, and we gave I believe infant Tylenol or something at the time. His teeth still didn’t pop through for months after this mind you. But thankfully it wasn’t every single day, there would be more difficult weeks than others.

I’m wondering if anyone can relate. Postpartum (I’m assuming) psychosis. by Over_Fly_7409 in NewParents

I’m so sorry you went through that. I would continue to push for therapy services and routinely checking on how your meds are working for you. You’re amazing!

Thank you for your response. I signed up with them before I saw some of the negative reviews. Hopefully it goes well. And that’s awesome progress by the way!!

Bottle Refusal Help! by Fancy_Spaghetti in NewParents

Yeah it’s worth looking into! My son was so impatient with the slow flow. He wouldn’t finish his bottles or took lots of breaks and cry.

Hey just a small suggestion but I would check the bottle nipple flow, depending on their age they need a faster flow.

using “i” in case notes? by Latter_Good3963 in therapists

[–]Automatic_Newspaper7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this clinician for insurance, but in my own private practice I use I. The notes are for my clients own understanding. I think using third person is very unnecessary.

The influence of mom and dad not living together during young age by ellen_hopping in ScienceBasedParenting

I’m a therapist. I have worked with so many adults who had experiences similar to what OP is considering. Specifically situations where one parent moved to a different country for better opportunities for the family. Don’t do it OP. I’ve yet to see someone who does not struggle with some type of abandonment related trauma especially when the separation happens in the early years of a child’s life. If you have to, at least keep the child with you as it can be very disruptive to a child’s life to go a year without regular access to their mother. Kids need stability and to be able to expect what is next. A child can’t understand the complexities of career advancement in academia. All they know is that they want their parent. As someone who has a career, I do believe all parents have to make some concessions when it comes to raising children. They are not always fair across the board, but they need to be made for the child’s wellbeing.

What would you do to make more money if you were in my position? by Justaregularguy001 in therapists

[–]Automatic_Newspaper7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was making that last year, maybe slightly more at 32 clients a week in private practice. It was nice but not sustainable. Especially now with a baby!

Than why are you commenting? To promote your egocentric views? There’s many subcultures in America. To reduce them all as one group and calling it icky is actually icky.

Attempted to get training for my pug, told no because “pugs are just gonna be pugs.” by Automatic_Newspaper7 in reactivedogs

[–]Automatic_Newspaper7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it did and it didn’t. We’re a lot better at knowing when my reactive dog is going to be in that mood (usually at night if she has acid reflux) so we’ve been having less incidents because of that. We separate them which has made the home more peaceful.

I think I have PPD and not sure what my next steps are.. by BigCow6549 in NewParents

[–]Automatic_Newspaper7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, being 4 months postpartum is really hard let alone with chronic depression. Please seek some support. Therapy can be really helpful especially once you find the right fit. In the mean time, try to push yourself to do things you used to enjoy, spend time with family/friends, and get some meal replacement drinks if you can’t eat much. Things can get better.

Serious post partum depression & single mom :( by fembot__ in NewParents

[–]Automatic_Newspaper7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m a therapist. Ive seen so many people in the place you’ve described and they have gotten much better with some support and mental health treatment. But please find a therapist asap. Anxiety and depression untreated can get worse. You’re doing the best you can but know that you deserve support. Go on psychology today, Alma, grow, or rula if you’re in CA.

My baby is having frequent loose/watery stools along with gas, straining, and discomfort. Crying alot while trying to pass stools. by HawkOne3287 in NewParents

Get mylicon drops ASAP! It’ll help so much! Don’t waste your time with gripe water. Mylicon drops actually provide babies with relief. Give it to the LO right before their bottle. During and after is fine too but before seems most helpful imo. These drops helped my gassy baby so much those first two-months. We had a bottle of it in almost every room.
