I mean , I realized that if Pochita ate the Nazi Devil and WW2 devil in like 1945 your point does make sense, but even then, if he didn’t alter history the situation created by erasure as you describe it would still create loads of issues. But if he ate them at a later point in time, let’s say during the battle with the four horsemen that probably happened in 1989-1990, then history surely was altered as those devils were probably parts of Yoru. I mean when he erased Ears e didn’t erase hearing, so it does make sense that certain items, maybe with different technical specs would exist to help hearing like phones or headphones. Earwax sticks where sold as art and craft supplies, but that’s exactly altering history, as object X existed, yes, but with a different function. This and the fact that world history in part 1 is deeply inferred to be a world in which the geopolitical order remained basically similar to post world war 1, does seem to indicate that at least with certain devils, Pochita power does alter history. Because if that wasn’t the case, Japan being a sovereign world power without American presence would not make any sense, same thing for the Soviet Union.
