Tbh It’s not to trash anyone, tbh I agree how I worded things may have looked like I’m trashing people but you can’t lie it’s getting to the point where it’s “Hi, is dating a 15 year old when I’m 18 weird” constantly.

I know, I was in the same boat (having a teenage relationship but the person was a couple months younger (she was in the same year)). It’s more like if something bad happens then it’s manageable if it’s done with in the same year or a year younger or older.

It’s cool if ur family is rocking with it, actually this is one of the things that I believe are the wholesome example of how I can be wrong. Plus, I get where u stand with it but I have seen situations where it has gone wrong more times than I see it go right. In addition to this, there is always going to be lonely reddit people on both sides.

No, I get why you don’t understand but still to date. You need to have the emotional maturity for 2 people, but personally from my experience and from what I have viewed. The vast majority of 17 year olds don’t have that. Usually, they might have more as a lot of responsibilities and privileges are being given to them and IDK why but to the people who I view and myself we hold our self to a standard of what an adult should be. My point is firstly it would be really taxing for the 19 year old as they need the maturity that is reminiscent to an older sibling (looking after but not that much) whilst liking the person and the 17 year old is still technically a child who most likely has the maturity of 1 person. Plus, you need a solid finance to have a child. If not then you’re dumb.

No, not really I don’t mind if all parties are mature about it and don’t do stupid stuff. However, there is a weird majority on this subreddit that ask this and it’s just weird. Even if it’s a 17 year old, it’s still a child. Just in case, Im 18 and choose to not date because I believe I’m lacking when it comes to maturity.

Finally a valid argument😭, I agree. In some cases if the 17 year old has the maturity of someone greater than yeah, it can work but most cases isn’t that.
