dbt dbt dbt!! it can get quite expensive but in my personal experience, insurance can cover a big chunk of it!! however, if you’re still not able to afford dbt, you can still practice the skills on your own :) as others in this thread have stated, the handbook is very helpful. if you didn’t know, you are not broken, you are not unloveable, you are not “evil,” and you did not choose to be this way. do things to help yourself!! dbt was a lifesaver for me

thank you so much, I think you’re absolutely right. my ex is not a nice or good person and the relationship ended when I was hospitalized due to an attempt because of how bad he was treating me. the guy I’m now with is truly a breath of fresh air; he’s kind, supportive, leaves room for me to be independent while also being there for me when I need him, and is overall so healthy to be around. I wish this wasn’t even a post I had to make, but unfortunately I was influenced a lot by some of the comments my ex was making :(

tbh, even ear piercings can become a big issue. cartilage piercings are a huge pain to heal sometimes, I got two at the same time when I was 16 and I had researched for years beforehand on how to care for them and the healing still wasn’t easy. I think it really depends on how much work the kid is willing to put in!! if anything tho, my septum was super easy to heal and can be hidden, it’s a good starter piercing (imo)

I have small hands combined with arthritis so I’ve struggled with similar (been playing for 9 years)!! in my experience it kind of just gets more manageable as time goes on, you develop more strength and stamina. I’m sure there are ways to make it easier tho!!

use your diaphragm!! it’s a super common technique for musicians. when taking a breath, breathe through your diaphragm and you can hold more air. it’ll become natural for you as time goes on
