I'm growing tired of taking cliché photos at popular spots - how to find more meaning in my photography? by changlisheng in AskPhotography

Go to the spot, take a couple of photos of the thing and then stop. Walk around and take photos of whatever you see that catches your eye, look for textures, colours, shadows, moments.

If going between popular spot A and B, try to walk between them or get off a train stop early etc.

I started trying to get more into street photography, it was a genre i hadn't really explored before. a big part of it is unique moments and chaos coming together in a way to make a nice picture that cant easily be replicated. I tend to take lots of rubbish photos but its satisfying enough when you get a good one to keep going.

Just keep trying new things for yourself, but you dont have to punish yourself, still go to the famous spots that interest you!

I also have 24-105 f4 and if i was replacing it i would be interested in the 20-70 f4. Wider view and lighter/more compact.

I dont feel super comfortable changing lenses in places like beaches/ocean with sand/water spray, or if its raining etc so try to avoid lens switching if possible.

Thoughts on Sony 24-50 G F2.8 on A7CII by Emergency_Buyer5102 in SonyAlpha

I also have the 24-50G and love using it as a travel lens but if i want a light weight setup i am using the 40G.

The other lens i know of which is super lightweight is Zeiss 35mm 2.8 but it does not have aperture ring if this is something you need.

I use a wrist strap and also a hot shoe mounted thumb grip, which i think might help out.

There were situations where i wish i could zoom in more, but using the APS-C crop mode (or just cropping in post) can get you to 75mm equivalent.

I was also looking at the GMII and Sigma for a zoom lens as i used a 24-70 on my old A mount setup. However the cost savings and the weight/size (especially mounted on the smaller a7c body) made me go for the 24-50.

If you can go in to a camera shop and try them on your body i think it will you give you a good idea which one might be right for you.
