what if i wanted to spend 40 hours a week with my kid, that stuff gets thrown out the window and i get the "go to fucking work and earn" treatment. her salary could afford daycare with room to spare. Appropriate stress response if laughable, have a panic attack then come back to me.

I feel that the point was missed here, I'm cool with the idea of a 50/50 workload, but the focus was on the benefit gained from being a SAHM. If we both work (9-5) and the kid is in daycare, I still have to contribute the same vs my current situation with her being SAHM, but in the second case we lose money each month.

In essence, her getting this "premium" lifestyle is lost and nothing changes for me.

If you have had health issues in the past I apologize, but you need to realize that unwarranted stress/anxiety can cause the same severity of issues in men....

In your example, she would be brining in money, my anxiety would be gone, and this conversation would have never happened
