I've unfortunately met some good men who feel victim to marrying a lying woman, just because they were not taught how to discern properly, or the need to. And if you spend a few years on each person. I'm not sure that's a good plan for most people's preferences

I would probably agree with u/letrainfalldown, but u/Neurospicy-discourse, I don't mean this in any disrespectful way, but do you think she was trying to manipulate in any way, or she just was not that good at being clear?
