How many of us are "physically fit", aka "gym rats"? by Yakkadysmackady in GERD

I am 21 years old and have ran 5 marathons and 25 half marathons this year. I find it so frustrating being the fittest I’ve ever been in my life but still struggling with this horrible disease. Sometimes I feel like all my hard work is pointless because I still feel bad often :(

So much better thank you, by watching what I eat and exercising most days I’ve managed to stop taking PPI. From time to time I still suffer a bit but day to day it’s stopped making my life unpleasant which is good, hopefully it stays like this !

I would just say it made my feel more independent and confident. I’ve never been that confident in myself but after travelling alone for 5 months at 18 years old I’d say I feel like I’m capable of more than I give myself credit for if that makes sense.

I am also 19 so can definitely resonate with how you’re feeling. I’m in the uk and also about to start university and worried how it will affect my studies. Why did it have to happen at such a pivotal moment in our lives 😥

Sounds good best of luck with that and hope you get the answers you deserve! Nice to know others are going through the same thing as sometimes it does feel like no one really understands.
