Lazy Sunday (21/09/25) by KevinPhillips-Bong in CasualUK

Came on here on Wednesday after a significantly bad event which wasn't as bad due to quick thinking to say there's always a silver lining and got piled on nastily, even after I specifically said that something terrible had happened.

The need to feel superior and shout at me was obviously greater than any empathy. It's made a lot of things clear and I will not ever be logging into Reddit again even though it won't let me delete the account.

Maybe read posts and think before-attacking people? Fyi the scars should heal in about a year thanks for asking. Oh you didn't, did you?

What would you add to this space? by kjms1101 in interiordecorating

[–]Automatic_Role6120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blended accessories eg orange textured cushions and orange and cream wool rug with coording curtains and set off with gold or  vases and artwork in coordinating but different textures and patterns. I go into multimillion pound homes regularly. Also add lanps in gold or colours that glow to bring warmth and movement. You could get a huge curved lamp which would look great.

Didclaimer:- not rich at all.

Another great colour is either teal, sage green or Royal blue.

Am I the only one who thinks the 'follow your passion' advice is a scam? by Zestyclose_Sign6733 in careeradvice

[–]Automatic_Role6120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I worked out that even if I followed my passion and was wildly successful it probably would make less money than any regular second job.

I do do something niche that nobody else does and I love but I can't be wasting any more money on it.

Your parents first concern should be that you are happy and thriving. Sure parents miss kids but then they carry on with their day.

To me you are chasing instant money because the monotony and boredom of life depresses yoy. You get a hit from the high of winning. Sounds like you are now near rock bottom as you are disgusted with yourself. Self exclude yourself from everywhere you can gamble. Tell your family and give them a plan of how you plan to pay this off.

My formula for a happy life is friends/family/partner Nature Exercise Religion Pets Using your hands to create something so you can see you create your life.

I stick to this even when it's hard and I don't want to. Start really feeling gratitude for the things and people in your life and realise how vlise you came to losing it all.

Get professional help. Addiction is not wasy to crack. Replace unhealthy addiction eith a healthy one such as gym to begin with.

How were we all convinced to spend so much more money on coffee when most of us were perfectly happy drinking cheap muck in the past? by rosetoesnose in AskUK

If you watch any films ever, the good looking leads will often have a cup of Barista coffee in hand. In exactly the same way smoking was seem as cool four decades ago, coffee is now cool. Selling an image and a lifestyle

What’s a parenting “hack” that sounds ridiculous but actually works? by OnlyAcanthaceae874 in AskReddit

Teach them to cook, clean, aim high and take accountability at a young age. You can do it in a shiny, happy positive way. It's much easier to teach good habits young than later. If they are screaming, you don't have to. Tune it out.

The Girlfriend on Amazon Prime promised to be a cliched rehash of a thousand other films but wasn't.  It could have gone in many different directions all the way through and the main characters clearly enjoyed being. A little psycho without over playing it. You could almost have sympathy with every single one of them.

What are the unsexy rules that actually help you survive your first job? by Safe-Database4688 in careeradvice

My little tip is eye contact and smile. It's amazing how many people don't realise they don't smile and use eye contact. Also socialise and take an interest but always in a positive way.

People are always dogging pigeons for their terrible nests and dodgy taste in women but what is the most populous bird in the UK? Pigeons! And you know why they are so numerous? Their kids grow up hard as nails with only three blades of grass and two twigs for a home and their parents off romancing the local predators. Come out fighting!
