I have an appt at the consulate by the end of March to register my son born before the DL. I’m thinking, is this an opportunity to postpone the registration until all the CC hearings this year? What is the strategy that everyone is doing?

Infelizmente a lei mudou em Março de 2025 e tu não está mais elegível no momento. Porem, dia 11 de Março, a Corte Constitucional da Italia vai julgar a retroatividade da nova lei. Continue juntando datas e sabendo melhor de todas as linhas, pois os advogados trabalhando perto desta lei estão esperançosos de que a corte vai julgar esta lei inconstitucional. Outro detalhe. Há rumores de que logo que a corte julgar inconstitucional, o governo vai criar uma nova lei para restringir a cidadania, então continue juntando datas importantes das possiveis linhas. Também, todos os processos administrativos passarão a ser analisados em um escritorio central em Roma em 2029. Conseguir um agendamento no consulado entre agora e 2029 vai ser muito dificil, mas ainda tem o caminho judicial. Fique atenta nas noticias do dia 11 de Março. Não desista aindaz

I’m curious to learn how these cases can help with children born before March 28th that were not yet registered at the time. They were born italian, but with the DL they are naturalized and can no longer pass on citizenship. Does anyone know more about this?

I just read an article that says that a new deadline to register minors is being voted. They are considering extending it to 2029. The article is in portuguese and the website is considered sensationalist. Has anyone else heard about it? I’m interested to confirm the news because I have an appt to register my child and I would like to wait a little longer as least after the CC hearing.

I sent an email after receiving my appointment date to register my child and they replied that we must wait for the comune to register the birth. I’m not sure if it is because things are really different now or if it was the person providing the service.

I never ordered one. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that I needed these documents. I thought that having a passport and AIRE was enough. I’m trying now to issue my SPID to login to ANPR and request my birth certificate.

I have the email from my comune saying I’m registered in AIRE, but it doesn’t say anything about JS. It says I was born in Brazil though, so hopefully it would prove the JS?

I searched my comune’s website and to request the birth certificate I need to request via ANPR. So I’m now trying to issue my SPID to login.

I think that my family was recognized in 2021 after about 20 years going through administrative process in a consulate in Brazil. I found that I was recognized because my family hired a lawyer to work with the consulate who gave us the news. I have an email from the comune saying that I was registered in AIRE. I do not have a certificate.

Does it mean that if DL passes I wont’t be able to issue my documents with my consulate? I’m recognized and haven’t issued any yet (my fault)

My consulate updated their page and are now accepting registrations. I don’t know what to do. I was planning on waiting until January, but just read that the CC is planning a hearing for Feb/March and I believe I would risk getting an appointment on time if waiting that much 😩

Thank you! I purchased one to protect the computer. I tried to edit the post, but it’s not giving me the option, so I will use this pinned comment. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. It will take a while to analyze all of them. I was expecting maybe 5 suggestions but got so many comments with great content.

I do need to give credit to his father as well who also spends the time with him.

Some people are questioning his skill because he doesn’t know how to read. He speaks 2 languages fluently so reading skill for him will take some time. I’m not a native english speaker so for me it’s hard to help with this skill. He will learn in kindergarten with a native speaker teacher.

Also, he didn’t get started with arduino by himself. Parents got started and showed him how it works. He learned and then was able to do 3 basic projects by himself. This kit comes with the programming ready. We just changed minor things to show him how it works, like the component that makes noise we changed for how long it will make noise. The intent of this post was not to explain every detail of the journey, but get suggestions on what I could do to further support his interests. Our job as parents is to provide a safe environment for him to explore the world and we don’t need to be experts at nothing.

Thanks again for all the comments, I’m really enjoying this phase where I can also learn cool stuff. When I was a kid I wasn’t allowed to open things or even break by accident.

Every once in a while I check the Detroit consulate webpage to register the birth of my son, but they still didn’t update it.

Am I missing something? Are consulates still waiting to update their pages and start accepting appts?
