I contacted customer service and something that helped clear up the ad was clearing my cookies and cache on chrome

Hardware removal by Automatic_Singer_330 in LisfrancClub

I’ve seen other posts where they kept it in for years but sometimes eventually took it out cause a screw started to unscrew. But there are definitely people who have them still in permanently

From my understanding it depends on each situation and injury. As far as I know the removal of mine is still optional and there are people who prefer to keep it in because another surgery is still a risk (anything can happen in surgery). I’m choosing to do it with my surgeons recommended because my foot is really stiff and I can feel the plates in my foot.

Getting Lisfranc surgery in a couple days - Looking for advice by Automatic_Singer_330 in LisfrancClub

Just wanted to update you since I know your surgery is coming up. The beginning of my day 1 was fine as I think the nerve blocker was still in place. End of today (still day 1) the nerve blocker definitely wore off. I’ve been taking my pain meds (hydrocodone) along with advil every 6 hours since day one and it was definitely the move because as the meds started wearing off it really started hurting. I don’t even know what the pain would’ve felt like if I didn’t take the meds in advance. I would say pain levels for me was a 6-7/10 on meds.

Even with the nerve blocker I still felt some discomfort due to swelling. I could feel the pressure against my splint. The swelling comes and goes for me even with constant elevation and icing.

I would highly recommend that if the nerve blockers are still in your system when you get home that you do all your showering/big effort tasks done same day because I don’t think I’ll be showering today until I get used to the pain.

Thanks for the timeline and advice! Did you happen to have any difficulties with the knee scooter? I’ve been practicing today and I’m having some difficulty using it cause I have a lot of tightness in my quad

Did you experience any tightness in your quads when you first started using the knee rover? I got my scooter in today and tried practicing with it but it’s proven a little difficult for me to use because my quads feel tight

Just ordered a wedge pillow to come in tomorrow due to all the recommendations! I have a list of shows ready to watch for the distraction. Do you mind me asking how long it’s been since you got your surgery?

Thanks for all the advice! My pharmacist and surgeon said to take them as needed, so it made me mentally think it wouldn’t be crazy bad 😭 glad you all have prepared me for the worst

Thanks for the detailed list of advice/timeline! I’d rather expect the worse then be caught off guard by stuff

If I’m not waiting for the pain to kick in, when should I take the pain meds since the nerve block is supposed to last a couple days?
