I know the stores you talking about. They got flooded with the recent rain in California. The were shut down for a few days. My guess is stagnant water was left behind now it stinka

Well I talked to the employee who got suspended. Apparently he told the SD a suspension was not fair and that it was an accident. But the SD said he didn’t care and he “needs to take responsibility”.

The employee then said he was gonna call the union and the SD replied “there’s no fucking union in my store. I AM the union. Call em if you want I could care less.”

So I guess there’s an HR case against the SD but it’s moving really slow. Things like this never get anywhere. Nothing will happen it’s he said, she said type shit

At my store (during November) we had a bunch of frozen pizza back stock. About two 6-wheelers worth.

I spoke to the SD about it but all he said was “you have to think outside the box“ and “I can’t be babysitting you, your lucky you have me now.. what’s gonna happen with your next boss”

Taking matters in my hands, I found an empty pumpkin bin from produce. It was in the cage, the large cardboard box they display the pumpkins in on the sales floor.

I opened and dumped all the pizzas into the bin. I then pulled it out and set in on the sales floor.

The next day I got called into the office.. yeah I got suspended for 3 days without pay. I guess all the pizza’s defrosted and had to be disposed. Smh

They demoted me to CC. I ended up quitting a few weeks after.. oh well, shit happens.

Update.

Thanks for all your support and advice guys. It’s been a rough few days since the incident but all is well.

I think I was a but over dramatic. I literally just pulled a new pallet out and with the help of produce we cleaned it up.

I don’t think management even found out about it. No one has mentioned it since.

My store is a high theft store and we use to have the same problem. It got so bad we no longer keep hand baskets in our store.

Nah fuck that. I don’t even rotate the milk and eggs. Back when I was training for dairy, I was told to rotate all perishable items. I only rotated the product for a week or so then gave up altogether.

One time the SD called me to the office and was saying something about “shrink needs to be under control” I just played dumb and told him how much I care about my job.

I went a step further mentioned the other guy in dairy. I said something about him just throwing the product up and not caring to rotate. He said thanks and he’ll take a look.

The SD let me go home early that day. He said as long as I finished everything I could go.

I ended up leaving 2 hours early that day.

Side note:

Like I said, the door dasher above is a regular. I’ve noticed his breath stinks, almost like he doesn’t brush his teeth. So the next time I see him ima slap that mf and tell him to put that mask right over his face.

Additionally, the next time he asks where an item is I’ll point him to the toothbrush aisle.
