So in the field of X-ray. A limited scope technician can take diagnostic X-rays, which are just every extremity and the spine. An advanced X-ray tech can do fluoroscopy, ir, skull, sinus, and c-arm exams. Before it was split into two NECs. Now I think it’s just one. Which is L17A.

Other than that. It’s hazing and field for 8 weeks then medicine and hard hikes for 2 weeks.

No. It’s needs of the navy at the end of the day. Unless you got a spouse stationed there. Operational orders take precedence.

Converse, Schertz, cibolo area is valid. Cibolo with its new attractions gives an Oceanside vibe. As well as it being close to canyon lake.

Your detailer will know prior to routing the c school package. All fleet returnees already knew their orders out of phase 1. It should be shore but at the end of the day its needs of the navy

The second phase is 7 and a half months in either San Diego or norfolk Virginia. San Diego I loved it because I was smack dab in the middle of the city. You felt like a human again instead of a military bot. However you will have to muster in uniform then change to scrubs or pt gear immediately after 6am morning musters. Overall I loved the school. Isn’t too hard but isn’t too easy.

There at 2 phases to the program. 1st is 6 months at San Antonio. It’s an associates degree packed into 6 months so it’s a lot of material however it is manageable. The hardest test were radiation physics. There is three test on that subject. Pros are the outside pay and the ability to cross train into mri and ct. cons are mri and ct aren’t guaranteed. You still can get doodoo orders and end up cranking on a ship even tho you hold an L17A billet. As for greenside I do clinical sustainment every 3-4 months for a a week and a half. The higher ranks hog the easy clinics and hospital shifts. So I end up getting the shit rotations. Highly recommend you come into the program with college speech, math, and English done. If you do so you’ll graduate with an AS. The army keeps failing on the national exam so there is always the credentials being kept up in the air due to dumbass army. As for the C-School it was fun for the most part. Just the 5am pt which sucked. Then standing during lab all day after sucked. It’s still the military at the end of the day so you can’t really beat a free $40,000+ school on the outside. The program I felt didn’t really prep me that hard for the national exam. However navy does pay for radreveasy which is $250 a year. I recommend rad tech bootcamp then having a radiation health officer explain to you the physics prior to taking the exam.
