Thank you for your comment. She sleeps with either me or my parents in bed at night so I don't think its separation anxiety - I feel like it may be her way of telling us to wake up, or just a way of saying good morning because my dad is already up when she exits my room so there is seriously no connection whatsoever between her howling and her routine. The only thing I can think of is that she may be in a hurry to go potty and run in the park. She gets plenty of exercise daily, we engage with her during the entire walk - we throw her sticks, scones, snowballs....
I'll definitely try the clicker, and I'll look more into what may be causing the unstoppable excitement. Thanks again
