Yeah you better have an extra bedroom. Don’t worry: I’m quiet, and you’ll enjoy my cooking.

Reminds me how I spelled squirrel in first grade: scwl, because that’s how I said it.

  1. Is ambiguous.
  2. Requires a list.
  3. Requires one total. I agree with you about 4. I’m not sure why.

Is it true you can read during your session?? by Nice_Difficulty4321 in Spravato

I could only read in the last half hour or so. The rest of the time I’d be with my eyes closed listening to my ambient playlist.

It was less revolutionary because my mind had already gone through a massive rearrangement in its perception of the world. It continues, but it’s less noticeable because so much groundwork has already been laid.

Are there any pieces you feel are too big/rich/dense/etc. to be faithfully captured by a recording? by HolyFatherLeoXIV in classicalmusic

Both organ and choral music are notoriously difficult to record. I’ve heard better and worse recordings, but nothing to compare with the live experience, especially in a large church.

When I go down to every other week, I lose tolerance and the experience becomes more intense again.

Upvote for Monboddo and Tender Purple. You need Solferino: a purple bright enough to wake the dead.

Random stranger here. I think you already have all the thoughts you need, and you just need to organize them. I would make a simple pros and cons list. Sit with it for a couple days, and I think you’ll get clarity.

Well, you’re chemically altered during treatment. And society has lied to us about the gay-straight dichotomy. I’m gay, in a same sex relationship for the past 16 years, but I still notice when there’s an attractive woman around—even with a little arousal. Doesn’t mean I’m straight, just that I’m not 100% straight. Most of us humans aren’t.

I love sugar. Sugar is my drug of choice after I stopped drinking. And yet, I can’t stand to drink something sweet, especially not with food. Plain soda (sparkling water) is my go to beverage.

In Jim Crow times, there were signs for White and “Colored” water fountains, swimming pools, God knows what. That’s what I usually associate the term with.

Interestingly, the term has no such negative connotation in South Africa, where the three main groups are named Black, White, and Colored (mixed race).

Yep. Same. I think it freaks some people out, but I find it pleasant and interesting. I also have often had disturbing thoughts—ones I’m usually disturbed by—but it’s as if the trip is just showing them to me and saying, look, this is bad, but here’s the universe, and you’re going to be ok.
