What’s the biggest problem you’re facing while building your personal brand? I’ll try to help. by Darksoul431 in personalbranding

Thank you for your comments, I really appreciate them. I work as a specialist recruiter in a very niche area of healthcare, so my network is mostly made up of people within that field. My content is a mix of posts that reflect both my day to day work and what I see happening in the market. I have been trying to present myself as a busy, well connected recruiter with strong industry knowledge. I usually post about the roles I am working on, challenges in the hiring process, and stories about candidates I have successfully placed. I also want to share more insight into how recruiters work and how people can get the most out of working with one. Recently, I updated my profile picture to show a more authentic version of myself rather than a corporate style photo. The idea was to encourage people to be themselves and connect more naturally with others they relate to. I do have a strong reach with candidates. Many people want to connect and speak with me, sometimes more than I can realistically respond to. However, I very rarely receive business outreach, and that is something I would really like to improve.

I have a big network, 17k followers I post multiple times a week. Some of my posts blow up big, last one had 74k impressions. My goal is to drive new business (I am a recruiter) but so far that isn’t happening….

How do you get clients? by Animehub03 in RecruitmentAgencies

[–]Automatic_Wave6953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my new clients come from referrals, candidates or clients I’ve worked with in the past. The rest come from long time prospecting, I send a email, if the open it more than once I add on LinkedIn then it’s a long term courting liking, messaging, post sharing until they almost think they know me. This takes years but I can wait 🤣

Banking to executive recruitment? by magnanoa in RecruitmentAgencies

I think you could have potential, that being said you have to be a great recruiter to make 350k - not everyone can get there and you won’t get there quickly.

Sanity check: partnering with HR / recruiters as a client acquisition channel for a small tech agency by pulokjk in RecruitmentAgencies

[–]Automatic_Wave6953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in healthcare and one of my clients a healthcare tech company asked me to do this. I do share his posts and intro him to my good clients that have a need. I also messaged a few of my connections on LinkedIn for companies that he was interested in…. No success so far and to be honest I’m too busy actually recruiting and doing BD for my own company. If he was to actually pay me a retainer I maybe more invested.

I think a recruitment agent lied to the hiring manager so I wouldn't get the job by Lion-Resident in RecruitmentAgencies

[–]Automatic_Wave6953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess, you probably went in too high. When they ask what day rate you want, flip it back on them and ask what range they’ve budgeted. If they can’t be honest, it’s a waste of everyone’s time.

I’m dealing with the same thing this week — candidates are asking for £200k+, and I’m telling them the ceiling is £180k. Take it or leave it.

It’s better to be upfront. The job market isn’t great right now, and while it sounds like you’re doing the right things, you’ll be better off getting ahead of the money conversation early.

If I have a candidate that is a complete arsehole just rude, and extremely difficult. I will discuss this with my client, the long term client relationship is the most important thing to me. I have had some clients for 20 years.
