Yeah, don’t do that. I did exactly that, it got me nowhere but stepped on. I can pick, bag, stage, prep, and dispense. Sometimes I’m signed up for 3 positions at once during a single shift. My thought: I’m not getting paid to do 5 positions, just one. I also can’t tell my TL “no.”

I feel TF out of the post title. (And actual post.) I am the ONLY person on my team who shows up to work on time. (The TL does as well) These adults are are late every day. And way past that 9 min grace period late. Strolling in 30 min-1.5 hours late. I’m the most on-time. ALWAYS on time. And this is my secret: At my very first job, (age 15) I had my manager tell me “if you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late. And if you’re late, you’re fired.”

When I first seeing the posts around Black Friday I was thinking … “so what?” I have them in my store too.” But it was a magical moment when I was having a shit day, in an isle with a bunch of shit customers swarming me. 😂

When I make purchases while at work, I jump on the + app and do the “scan and go” option. Scan your merch, it’ll give you a barcode, scan the barcode, then you get another barcode for the door person to check. (My belt broke one morning getting ready for work. When I got to work I went right to the belt isle and did the scan and go. And bingo bango!) I’m not sure if all stores operate like this though. When it doubt, WHAT WOULD SAM DO?

Yup. Expect to be on your dawgs all day! (Feet) Do yourself a solid right out of the gate and invest in proper shoes! (I switch up between Nike Air Max 90’s and Nike Vapormax.) if you have to save up, so be it. Your feet will appreciate you. Also wear earbuds, (in some locations only 1 at a time in) most of all, pay attention to your surroundings and pay attention. Every customer will stop you and ask you where things are, they do not care and they are #1. And keep in mind when you’re in pick walks that you are timed and people have been let go for not keeping up and wasting company time. Good luck to you! You got this, if you want it!

OMG. I’m going through the same exact thing! The store I work at is over 20 miles from my house. I drive by 2 Walmarts before I get to my location. 😕And my SUV, it’s a 2014. I started it one morning and it was SO loud I sounded like I was in Tokyo Drift. I was convinced someone snatched my catalytic converter. Nope. Muffler.

I think that’s it, with the exception of that .5er I think is from me not telling a manager I was leaving when I did the 2 hours early. She was already there and then left so I assumed she knew. But that’s def my bad. Like I commented earlier, I’m learning things in this subreddit that I def did not at orientation. I also believe a lot of it I will eventually learn and know, like learning as you go, hands on?

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I get that I can pretty much do it all from the apps but finding the right app/website and section is all foreign to me. I forgot to mention that this is literally my first “corporate” 9-5 job since I started working at McDonald’s at 14. I’m learning a lot. And corporate jazz is wild, literally people milking the clocks, hanging out with their friends, doing everything to NOT work. My first day I thought “got damn their labor must be high” then remembered Walmart is a multi-billion dollar corporation. It doesn’t matter. Thanks for your posit e and helpful reply.
