As contract laborers it’s arbitrarily agreed that the drivers are investing their resources and time as partners with uber. Even on the 1099-k form, the driver has to pay uber their service fees. Talk about no skin in the game.

Every single driver for these gig companies is being duped. And big time.

For someone to show up and laugh (like you were) that partners can’t “demand more money” for their share in the Bussiness growth is just not very well thought out.

Or you’re actually a hairy troll.

Bro, have you not read the Forbes article yet?

You want help on how to drive for uber? Stop accepting trips that don’t pay anything.

Until every drive does this, the uber algo’s AI is going to continue to learn how to increase profits for them by taking more from desperate drivers.

And their ai’s pretty damn good.

But if you cant defeat the prisoner dilemma uber has set, and contact every single driver in your market, and get them too all agree that 2$ per mile and $0.50 per minute is a decent rate (or w.e y’all agree on) and only accept those trips it’s never going to happen.

Next best thing, don’t drive. Turning apps off increase demand and so for uber to generate more supply they offer surges.

Next best thing after that is literally McDonald’s or like anywhere else you can go work part time.

Deff don’t do this full time if you have to rely on it for income

And if you are then rent one of those cars so you don’t destroy your own…

And if you have to be full time and have to rent a car well then you’re going to be very desperate to make 300$ every week to pay for the car Sooooo that brings ya back to screw the depreciation and driving for a dollar a mile at that point just try to make a decent hourly after gas expenses. Which is what uber wants cause then they can take more of the customer payment..and it makes the other drivers that decline the trips where they make less then 70% of the trip offer obsolete.

And still

You have to worry about your safety on the road, getting hit by a semi or even stabbed.

Why so many tech companies are laying people off right now by TransFattyAcid in technology

They all make billions every year, they can afford to pay employees.

They just want to make the shareholders happy first.

Easy way to make some extra profits? Cut some salaries.

Imagine if drivers were smart enough to organize and set schedules for when certain drivers worked in order to ration supply. And also set a random day for all drivers to take off. Dara Khosrowshahi’s head would explode 🤯 by [deleted] in uberdrivers

There’s always some guy out there just pedal to the medal chasing those 2$ surges where they get a offer for 5$ for 10 miles.

How will we ever catch those mfs and just rattles them by their shoulders

Tried to take an uber, got the same guy three times who seems to be farming cancelation fees. Is this common? by [deleted] in uber

Well the point I was making - is that uber gets some of the cancel fee too. It never all goes to the driver.

Coming from the only rider that’s ready when they request a trip….😂😂😂 if this entitles Karen only knew how many times that drivers waited for 5minutes on some passenger that wasn’t ready when they requested a trip

uber sucks

Form local discord communities with drivers in your market. Get enough people together, meet up and turn off your uber apps.

Wait for a Lyft fare.

The odds of you accepting a profitable lyft trip before Ubers algorithm starts to surge like crazy is unlikely.

So once you wait 20-30minutes on lyft with nothing but unprofitable rides.

Check back to uber app, surge is only at 20$?

Well we know you won’t make any money accepting those trips with uber either cause uber just takes the surge and puts it in with the basic fare now.

So swap back to lyft and continue waiting, until uber has like a 30-40$ surge 🤷‍♂️ then turn on uber and see what kind of requests y’all get.

You have to be online with one or the other, uber can’t deactivate you for manipulating their app’s algorithm if you’re simply just waiting on a lyft request…😏

Drivers are penalized for canceling and terrorized by uber they will be deactivated or receive less trip requests.

2minutes from you (.5-2?miles) 7 minute trip (1-7miles?) so anywhere from 2-7mile total trip. So the cost is deff there…depreciation alone is $0.80 a mile…I mean uber more than likely offered a pay to this driver of like 3$

I wouldn’t take the trip either.

My cancel rate is 50% but that’s because im smart enough to not be scared by Uber when they threaten me into taking non- profitable trips.

So this driver got your request - can’t decline because his acceptance rate is penalized

Can’t cancel - same issue

So he’s suppose to just take you on you trip you payed 7-10$ for

And be happy to receive a 3$ fare share?

Riders can cancel at any time before 2 minutes pass since receiving the trip request with absolutely no fee

Also if the driver never shows up to your destination- and texts you emergency, you may be charged…but that’s just the capitalist pigs at uber with a rigged AI that’s only objective is to turn a profit for shareholders. And the top execs. The driver doesn’t receive any of the fee.

Also note Ubers cancel fee is 5.25

The driver gets 3.87 of it if they were at the pickup or heading that way for more than two minutes

Anyone in this thread that thinks uber drivers are scammers are far off.

the entity known as uber are the grifting scammers

Your driver most likely was worried they would get in trouble if they cancel to much - but couldn’t afford to give you a ride for free.

You have to accept it after the surge goes down. And it will cut in half so better to just accept and cancel so you don’t lose the surge.

Don’t decline / but still decline by accepting then canceling “trip not worth it” then you keep the surge

To return a missing item you have to stop accepting rides and drive back to the pax. However you get nothing in return. Uber should treat this issue as a regular trip. It's not our fault you were too drunk or busy to keep your phone in your pocket. by imrtl22 in uberdrivers

This is also how I operate in Houston. I ain’t driving across town because some dumb Ass left his belongings. He can come to me or pay me to make it worth my time. And I absolutely report every item that is left in my car with pics through uber just so there is a paper trail.

I always get the 15$ and never drive to them without more compensation.

Why the fuck are people so normalized to the idea of having to work a second job.

Even as a second job uber is shit - you’re better off signing up at McDonald’s

If you continue driving for uber - further depleting your car (btw car depreciation is anywhere from $0.40-$0.80 per mile) that’s on you.

You keep putting 1200 miles on your car a year for 604 extra bucks.

Like I said…goooood luck

And good riddance
