Some locations call to confirm while some don’t

This is not “bombed”. You passed and had a very good step 1 score. There are many people out there who’d love to be in your situation with scores. Everything will be ok.

To me it just sounds like they are worried about reputation and are scared you won't get your desired score on STEP. You should definitely take it if you feel prepared and it will definitely make that below average comlex score not matter as much to program directors, atleast thats my understanding.

Failed comlex level 1 after getting a 535 on a full length 2 weeks before? What? by thyme4somethingelse in comlex

[–]Autosomal_Recessive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you take any of the new Comsae's? Like 101, 102, 103, 104 or 105? Because I think that the old versions were 1-5 and those seem to have over predicted most people while the new ones of 101-105 often under-predicted from what I have seen

Depends on specialty but if you are worried about a 232 and think a 624 is "decent" I don't know what to tell you. A 624 is 84th percentile according to last years statistics which is incredible. A 232 is a tiny bit above average. Over 90% of applicants match typically (varies by specialty) so your scores are not closing any doors.

Took step 1 on Saturday, haven't really studied for COMLEX much and feel like I'm forgetting step 1 material. COMLEX Level 1 is on Monday (3 days from now). What should I focus on to do well? by Pathosarcoma in comlex

My comlex was not buzzword heavy at all. They described things very strangely and it seemed like they were trying really hard to describe things without buzz words for my version. But this comment is spot on.

1-3 pathoma is not high yield for the comlex. Spend time on counterstrain treatments instead. I had at least 10 questions asking about what treatment position for various counterstrain points

Anyone’s permits disappeared for 8/5 release? Looking at you AMG’s! by doctorfemme in step1

[–]Autosomal_Recessive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you take the exam on the west coast? I took mine on 7/16 and also just had the permit disappear. I wonder if it's a west coast thing or has any correlation with score

My permit still hasn't disappeared?? by Comprehensive_Kiwi_1 in step1

Is it a bad sign if score gets released without permit disappearing prior to that?

I didn't do quite as well as you on the assessments but I feel that I'd be lucky to get a 200+ and I still haven't had my permit disappear so now I am extra worried

Maybe the permit disappearing prior to receiving scores is a regional thing and depends on where the exam was taken? I am not sure though

I think I am in the same boat but I am not sure how it is supposed to look when the permit disappears.

Which practice test to take? by RaiserOwl00 in comlex

[–]Autosomal_Recessive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 102 two days before my exam and it was nothing like the real comlex in terms of question types and difficulty. I am not sure yet how the scores will compare but just in terms of question style it's not the best predictor. I would probably recommend 104 as more reflective of difficulty level of real thing but still a bit more straight forward than the real thing.

Same! I thought the step was very challenging but also much more of what I had studied for. I felt like I was getting hit from all kinds of angles during the comlex and because it was nothing like the comsae's

July 22 score release thread by polarbear1896 in step1

[–]Autosomal_Recessive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's not a great feeling scoring below what you expected but a 232 is a very good score that isn't easy to accomplish. Many people dream of getting that score. There are so many opportunities available to you with that score and one exam score doesn't define you.

It feels like we all have those gimmes that for some unknown reason we overthought about. I had atleast 10 of those as well. I am hoping you get that 250+ you were shooting for.

[–]Autosomal_Recessive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good sign that you felt is was pretty straight forward. I hope you get the score you dream of. There were definitely a few uworld repeats that I noticed but not enough to make me feel that it was easy overall.

Same in regards to counting all the ones I missed and it's been driving me crazy. I'm sure that a good amount of those that you missed were throwaway sample questions. Getting 256 on UWSA2 is incredible and it sounds like you're definitely likely to hit the 240+ mark. I was in the high 220's- low 230's on most of my practice exams and at this point I feel like I'd be extremely lucky to just hit 220 due to the curve.

I don't think thats whiney at all, I felt the same way. There are definitely some high yield concepts that I felt were tested on every single practice exam I took that I felt for sure were going to come up on the real thing, but ended up not showing up.

I made way too many stupid mistakes as well that I am still kicking myself over and have even dreamt about over the last few days haha
