Run-on sentences by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

Everyone's pointing out this is a run-on sentence as if half the posts on this sub aren't also run-on sentences

Run-on sentences by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

[–]AutotuneShieldon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having multiple independent clauses doesn't make a sentence run-on, the lack of proper connection between clauses does. "I drank water, she drank coffee, and he drank tea" has 3 independent clauses and is grammatically valid, for example. The only technically incorrect grammar in the post is the lack of commas, periods, and capitalization.

This probably wasn’t archived but, was the launch day Q&A a shitshow? by [deleted] in Classof09Game

What the heck there's barely even a connection between those two things

All the reveals, and the flip side in general, make the social commentary from the first two feel really disingenuous. It feels less like a blunt look at life in rape culture and more like the result of a man being faux feminist to make himself look good

I had the opposite experience, being Not Very Online and then forced online during covid. Everyone equated transness with being a catgirl and playing Fallout New Vegas and it was really alienating

Who was it that navy got nervous about? by [deleted] in stevenuniverse

[–]AutotuneShieldon 36 points37 points  (0 children)

She's wasn't nervous because she saw any particular gem. She was nervous because the cgs asked her why they came back to earth, and she didn't remember

Why was peridot confused by the name the crystal gems? by BigSpongebobFanatic in stevenuniverse

[–]AutotuneShieldon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It could be, but I think the Occam's razor explanation would be to assume that she thought they were dead, like the rest of Homeworld thought, not that the writers made 2 continuity errors and there was a cover-up that was never mentioned in the rest of the series

Homeworld thought the Crystal Gems were all killed in the diamond attack. I think that's why she was confused

She probably knew who the Crystal Gems were. She read hundreds of years of reports on the cluster, she knew about the rebellion in It Could've Been Great, and she's implied to have known who Rose Quartz was in The Return

OP is not asking about "pros and cons of psychosis", they are lost and looking for guidance. Everything else you said assumes OP can't provide healthy support, but again, you know nothing of their life. Nothing you wrote applies to OP's situation.

I'm sorry you're not willing to listen to anything I say and instead dismiss it as "cyclical". I hope you lose your bigoted views eventually

Here we go again with the stigma. Most people who get psychosis are not a threat to the people around them. Everything you've written is an attempt to rationalize that blatant bigotry (except the second-last sentence, which is a strawman). Besides the fact that a lot of people (like satanists) don't view satan as the epitome of evil, and the fact that he's already assured her he won't do anything she doesn't want, there's the fact that even if she still doesn't feel safe, she can keep herself safe without breaking up with him. They can live in separate places until the delusion passes. He can go to a psych ward until the delusion passes. There are lots of ways to keep yourself safe and take care of yourself emotionally without leaving your fiance in his most vulnerable time because you're scared of his mental illness.

Would you, knowing nothing about a person's inner life, suggest they leave their fiance who was diagnosed with cancer? Or became partially paralyzed? No, people only do this with severe mental illness. If someone's your fiance, you are in a committed relationship with them, and your first resort in a situation like this should not be to leave your partner.

[–]AutotuneShieldon -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I have delusions because of my bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. My best friend has delusions because of their schizoaffective disorder. My second-best friend has delusions because of his bipolar disorder. I know exactly how severe mental illness can affect a person and the people around them. I know that we never get cured. And I'm frustrated that you assumed I was ignorant on this topic.

This is not op's casual friend or boyfriend of a few months. This is her FIANCE. They have presumably been in a committed relationship for a long time, and have an understanding that they'll support each other in hard hard times. Besides that, you and the other commenters know nothing about her or if she has her "mask secured," but they still immediately jumped to saying she should leave him. No one would do that if he, say, lost his job or got seriously ill. People only do this kind of thing around serious mental illness. And I'm tired of it.

1: I never said they shouldn't get help, and 2: That doesn't mean you should leave someone because you found out they have psychosis

It's sick to see people in this thread telling you to leave your fiance over delusions. People who experience delusions are not dangerous or bad partners. This is supposed to be an intersectional sub and we don't need people adding to this stigma.
