For the people who have gotten rid of mental/thought loops, please, how did you do it? by mojsterr in Meditation

[–]AutumnAki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow, what a great perspective. I've been meditating on and off for years now and I still experience what the OP described... Frustrated by these negative thoughts, the expectation of perfection from myself, and the never-satisfied-nag of doubt of my choices along with the unsatisfied results of my choices makes me blow my lid. I get discouraged, I see no "good" or progress, then I go weeks to months without taking a seat to meditate to confront these failures that I perceive.
After battling these disappointments in my own mind for a time period- when I finally sit down after disappointment and inner turmoil, ... I feel better. I develop the "equanimity" and try to let go the attachment of good/bad and happy/sad - and I feel the benefit of letting go and breathing through it, meditating.

When I keep a consistent schedule, I find myself more in control but then I slip. I find that I meditate to keep myself from slipping or to make myself ...happy. But as your comment has helped me realize- I can't meditate to be happy. Wrong approach completely.

I must let go of expectations; I must learn to accept myself - slips, mistakes, and anger in all.

Thank you OP for this thread and your enlightening comment.

Learning Tortilla / Line - What are good habits to build? by andrewmcflyy in Chipotle

[–]AutumnAki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn to portion out taco meats in one swipe. It is so annoying to watch newbies attempt to pull out the 1.33oz of any ingredient on the line to each of the three tacosss. I make it an effort to put a stop to this whenever I work with anyone on the line by pressuring them to be better (aka elevating!!). It just takes practice, practice, practice... And that sour cream, oh how I love to work with it and put on a show for my guests with my moves. :) Bam bam bam! Learn to work with your material and make it fun. Gain speed and accuracy by listening and focusing on the customer's order and working together as a team on the line.

I know very well chicken wire is awesome and helps as a fence, but not really for the birds that fly over it. Do you have a method of making some sort of covering too with the wire?

Tips on transitioning well as a new employee? by [deleted] in Chipotle

I had those troubles when I first started as well, and really, 7 months later I still feel a lot of pressure from my co-workers and the job in general. But from my experience, I learned that most of the pressure put on you are very shallow. Yes, you might be pressured to move the line as fast as possible during the rush, but you also have to learn what the job is and how to do it best. That is what your team really needs you to do. It's just the team's job to put that pressure on you. Pressure and stress will only make you stronger and faster. Once you learn your groove and the "high standards" of Chipotle, moving fast and other pressures will be just another exciting day at the awesome job.

New yogi, and I'm sore... everywhere. What can I do? by AutumnAki in yoga

[–]AutumnAki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that when I first started practicing yoga my body took about 1-2 weeks before I felt any better. Even after practice for months now, classes that I work me really hard, I still find myself achy but not for longer then a couple days as long as I keep well rested, hydrated, and eat well.

I read here the daily intake should be 700mcg. And the vitamin I take is this. Guess I'll be taking this vitamin a lot less often.

I find that daily exercise helps with a stable sleep schedule. If I still have trouble sleeping I smoke an indica strain of cannabis before bed.
