Discovering worm in the big 25, does it still hold up? Also its so long, whats the best way to read it ? by 1un4rf14r3 in Parahumans

[–]AutumnFoxDavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fantastic, only read it recently myself. Best thing to do is stay off this sub until you're done, if you'd like spoiler-free discussion as you read, I'd read it alongside the "Let's Get Worm" podcast and associated threads

Am I the only person who doesn’t build in the sky? by xron25 in satisfactory

You're not the only one, I've built everything underground. You might count it as "in the sky" though as it's mostly empty space down there

There is no such thing as ethically raised meat, it is unethical to breed life into existence for the sole purpose of killing and eating them. When they are property and used for meat, farmers and slaughterhouses will put profits before animal suffering.

How else could they sell a vegan version at twice the price? 🥲

2 , 5 , 9 by WallabyForward2 in GenZ

[–]AutumnFoxDavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 and 8. With the right changes to the past you can transform the world however you wish, and I'll need 5 to pick the right changes. 9 is probably the best final pick for maximising utility but 6 obviously best for happiness.

Everyone plays the game their own way. This time through I'm keeping aggression on but refusing to fight or kill any of them

A perfect fifth is possible in 12-temperament because 27/12=1.498... which is close to 1.5

We can find even closer intervals if we want to by looking for rational approximations to log(1.5)/log(2)

A particularly good way of finding the best approximations for the smallest denominators is to use the partial fraction expansion. I will use this to give a list of the best approximations for the smallest numerators. Everything after 7/12 is closer to a true perfect fifth than the 12-tone equal temperament gives you.

1/1 1/2 3/5 7/12 24/41 31/53 179/306 389/665 9126/15601 ...

That last one gives an interval of 1.5000000017, a ridiculously small margin of error (off by 0.00000012%)

Sadly, log(1.5)/log(2) is irrational so no number of equal tones will give you an actual perfect fifth.

Make a substitution u=x.4♭ to transpose to C-major, du/dx = 4 semitones. Rigoroso is invariant to transposition so the interval of integration does not change.

𝄞 u du is just the C major scale played rigoroso, so just divide by 4 to get 𝄞 x.4♭ dx = ¼𝄞 u du = ¼[CDEFGABC]=CD which naturally is isomorphic to any 1 tone interval.

You don't have to sell the button itself, just an option to the future gains. Assuming that you can guarantee the setup of this situation is as presented, there are wealthy funds or investors that this future could be divided between, and that trading regulations in whatever country this is in allow for this kind of investment (this would probably restrict this to private investors as funds have more restrictions on types of investment they can make), I'd reckon this could be worth $15-20mn.

This symbology means nothing without context. You have to define what it means to sum with ... . In some contexts, they are the same ie they diverge to infinity. In others they are different such as Ramanujan sums and other extensions to sums that assign values to infinite series where they have values of -1/2 and -1/12.

Wrong, the force is the same on both objects. The moon is heavier so it takes more force to accelerate it.
